Flash Sentry, well, he's not a gary-stu. He's the opposite, he's an Anti-Sue. Trust me, it's still not a good sign. He's a little boring, we don't know his personalty other than "nice" and "polite". I'm still pinning the blame on Hasbro most part. Also, it's out of character of Twilight to just fall in love with a guy she doesn't know, especially a human Flash. It'll be more her type to know the guy more and proper knowing one another. Plus, I don't like Flash's role being a main character's boyfriend, he needs time.

Character/Personalty:
Nice and polite are ok, but we need more, something believable. Flash needs be little like, have good moral yet has a limit of patience, if his patience were to reach his limit he would be a little crazy and act twitchy. Also a really slow guy to catch on what is going on. Kinda like Wilt from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. It'll be hilarious! Oh and a bit sense of justice. The girls love a guy with good personalty and sense of justice.
Role:
Okay, this is going to be tricky. But, since Flash is a royal guard, he should be a HALL MONITOR! I'm pretty sure it'll be helpful for his role in the movie. He'll give Twilight a tour around the school, he might get to places while the mane six can't since he's the HALL MONITOR! Speaking with Sunset about her behavior and their situations. Also, it may be better if he's the only one falling in love and not Twilight. It'll be more believable. Although, he will speak with her more about dreams and social life, and invite her to his house since she has no where to go. It might be the best way to develop a relationship, even though one's a human and one's a pony... XD

I approve of Flashlight. Partially because flashlights are useful, and mainly because Twilight looks happy with him and I don't want to rain on their parade.
