and here we have my first finished and decent looking fanart. where the one to suggest (repeatedly) that I should draw a Blacksad fanart since we both love the comics.and after 3 failed attempts I finally ended up with this, a pretty decent result. Blacksads legs came out awfully stiff and he is too short compared to Weekly though, but the staggering height difference between them is really hard to draw..
I frankly don't like drawign fan-art of famous comics or cartoons that much since any attempts I do never seem to get close to their original prime. everything I try feels like a watered down version at best, ending up something that doesn't look mine, nor the original artist.
this drawing is a prime example of this, eventhough I've spent hours on redrawing them, they ended up looking slightly odd.
oh well, nothing to do about it... atleast the watercolours came out pretty decent^^

ah thank you! Blacksad is so stupidfying gorgious to look at that it's disheartening to even try to make a fanart of it sicne they are bound to pale compared to the original

I love Blacksad <3 still havn't gotten the newest book yet though :C still trying to get it in english.
I can always order it but I kinda cling to the hope that it'll show up in Outland sooner or later

meh yea, I still havn't found any sign of a english version of Blacksad at outland, only that blasted danish version wich really ruined my experience of the book

you think? why thanks! I could always try watercolouring something for you, though the problem would be to get the drawing unto proper paper though.. but I'm pretty sure I'll figure a way.

i'm unfamiliar with these characters, but i like it. i like the sad looking cat thing, especially his coat. his sad face makes the other fella look like a smiley asshole, in my opinion

well he isn¨t supposed to be sad, just annoyied or "not amused" from listening to Weeklys talk, but you need to read the comics before you have a chance to understand the characters.
you should defently read the comic books though, they've got gorgious art [link] and quite good story.

Well, I also have Blacksad The sketch files of book 1, but sadly it doesn't show all the pages of book 1. Something you probably like to look at unless you already have it.
