HEAVILY inspired by Alphonse Mucha. Specifically this painting: [link]~29ish hours in photoshop. Kinda threw myself into this. Honestly, even though I see a lot of flaws with it, it's probably one of the best things I've ever drawn
(Turned out better than I thought it would, anyway.)Used that Mucha painting and a Gmod screenshot of Gordon's profile as references.
Lastly, the faded text in the darker brown sections is snippets of wiki entries on theoretical physics

Damn man, that is amazing! Freaking awesome. It's almost like a stained glass window.
One little thing I noticed was that his glasses are kinda worn funny...they're resting on the top of his ear, not in the space where they usually rest (the space joining the ear to the head). Other than that, great job and 29 hours well spent!

Absolutely love your rendition of this, Gordon looks awesome, I like the little touches, like the text in dark brown. Shame it reads so hard, otherwise it might've been a bit clearer. Love the lambda and especially Gordon's profile in general.

Good execution, good concept, though the type is hard on the eyes. I had a bit of trouble reading it the first time but finally realized it said half-life. Maybe try an ochre? or a yellowish colour? Or maybe even rustic red to compliment the green.

Hmm, well, I'm wondering if that's a problem with differences in monitors-- I've seen this on maybe three or four different monitors and the way I've always seen it, there's a pretty stark contrast between the dark brown of the letters' outlines, and the light green that they're on. I'm hesitant to change the outline color because it's meant to be the same color brown as the rest of the outlines in this, but I'll see if I can't figure out another way to make it a bit more contrasting/readable.

It's a beautiful picture and I'm still amazed at your skills. If I practice in Photoshop for maybe 10 years or so almost daily, I may be able to catch up to you.
