It reminds me of the love triangle for the Lion King. Celestia is Sarabi, Discord is Scar, and Chrysalis is Zira. Maybe It's just me, but that's what I thought when I saw it.

Ha, it's like the classic romantic comedy plot. Celestia is the pretty cheerleader type Discord is after, but Chrysalis is the quiet girl he will discover feelings for at the end of the movie. XD

this picture tells a convoluted story with no words. a picture doing that is the mark of it being a great picture. a younger celestia, with not a care in the world, flitting about the sky, while discord admires her from afar... meanwhile, chrysalis seems to be entranced by discord. perhaps chrysalis was the kind to be content as long aas the one she admired was content; however, discord was turned down by celestia, and went mad with grief. this also angered chrysalis, and she developed a vendetta against celestia.
