Edit #2Edit
Yea, now I notice my typos and stuff. -_-; But, I'm really lazy, and this felt like it took forever to do, so I'm not fixing it... The typos are pretty minor, anyway.
What started as a reminder to myself how to make watermarks turned into this, lol. Hope it helps some people out there.
I also hope you don't have to hit "Download" to view it fully.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a problem. I’m trying to create a signature/watermark “brush” using Gimp. The problem I’m having is the process to save them and then use it as a brush. I’m confused by “Save,Save as, and export. I also would like to know ( in your opinion )what the initial numbers to start with when creating a new signature/watermark. Your help is greatly appreciated, Harry

Hi, so, I'm not quite sure what it is exactly you're asking, but have you gone down past the image watermark part? There's a "Finishing Off" section that uses the rabbit watermark as an example, but the process is the same for the signature.
(I didn't really do a good job dividing everything up into parts, so maybe you missed it?)
As for Save, Save As, Export... To be completely honest with you, all I really know is that "Save As" is what you'll really need, so that you can follow the steps outlined.
I'm not really sure about how big of a canvas you'll need. It really all depends on how big you plan on making it. Perhaps try it on a 100x100 canvas, just to see what it looks like.
This most likely didn't answer any of your concerns, and I'm sorry about that. If you could send me a note later, we can try to figure something out. If push comes to shove, we'll try to think of something else to figure out what the problem is.

Firstly thank you so much for your reply. By which method do you wish me to "drop you a note"? I do have some questions, Thanks H.

By clicking on my username, you'll see a tab in the top-right corner that says, "Send a Note." You can use this to ask any questions you'd like so that we don't have to keep seeing what the parent message was in the comments.

Is this for Gimp 2.7? Or just Gimp all-together?

It should be usable with any GIMP, as long as they kept the basics the same. I used this with GIMP 2.0 or something.

Or you make the image or whatever.. and then you just change the layer type to "overlay" or "grain merge" (it looks really good but it doesn't work that well with super dark (like black) or white colors. xD;

... Or are you talking about making the watermark? Lol, sorry, I thought you were talking about me correcting my mistakes. XD; And I still wouldn't know how to use what you just described. XD;;

Lol, yeah I was talking about the watermark. XD If you click on Layers, there is a drop down menu (with Mode: on the left on top of Opacity) That is how you change the Layer type/mode. XD
I am sorry I confused you XD;
