The Stars and Bars was the first flag, but it caused confusion at the First Bull Run.  So the Saint Andrew Cross Flag was used.  Then for some reason they changed it to one with the Saint Andrew Cross flag in the canton corner.  This was a bad design, because it sometimes got mistaken for a surrender flag.  So the final version had a red part added to the end to stop it from being confused for a surrender flag.  Maybe all that white cloth made for some good surrender flags at the end of the war?  There was also a Bonnie Blue Flag.  There was another type with a red cross on a blue background.  It was another state type.

Worst come to worse, if they ban the confederate battle flag, just display the actual star and bar flag, or even Bonnie blue. Our population is a kinda illiterate of flags, so they might not know it's actually the flag(s) of the CSA.

Also, in a hypothetical but historical sense, the CSA would have had no choice but to ban slavery because of international pressure by the dawn of the 20th century. Segregation would probably be put in place, but it would eventually end because of the progressive era, and the enlightenment to liberal ideals. However, the establishment of equal rights for African- Americans, and the end of segregation, would probably be slower in this alternate CSA. However, history has always proven to be unpredictable, thus it's difficult to think of an accurate version of a modern alternate CSA that survived. Despite being a Social Democrat, and Liberal, I like the CSA in it's historical context, and the irony of history. The CSA was a confederacy ish of 11 plus 2 claimed states, that were attempting to succeed from a government they deemed tyrannical. Sound familiar? Something similar happened in the 18th century, 1776 to be more precise. To make the situation even more ironic is that France was considering supporting the CSA because Confederate cotton ran it's textile industry. France did not support the CSA because it's ally (lol) the UK convinced them not them not too.

Also...............................if the CSA won it's independence, then the chances of an Independent California Republic that rules Western America increases heavily .

The 3rd national flag of the C.S.A. would work.  It really is funny how some people don't know what they are looking at really.  Anyway I love your comments and thank you for taking the time to make them.  I wish more people would comment....  but it is what it is now isn't it....  lol
