Description This is a new spec (welded solid) deactivated L85A1.
When I first obtained it, it had a grip from an airsoft gun, iron sights and front grip from an L98 cadet rifle. Since then I've upgraded it with rail mounting, grip pod bipod, genuine grip and an optical sight.

Bit of a nightmare this particular A1 variant, but the A2 was nice.

Brilliant deac. Is it mid-spec? As in, cocking handle moves but does not link up with anything.

And when did you get it? These are pretty rare now.

This is welded solid, however it does not meet the new EU specifications because a standard magazine can be inserted. I can keep the gun but it can't be legally sold without being brought up to the new specs first.
I got the gun more than ten years ago now. It was about the time that the work was being done to create the A2 when a batch supposedly rejected for upgrades were deactivated andΒ released onto the market.

So it isn't strippable?

It's a very cool piece though, and I would never sell it if I were you - it's just too cool.

Are those Daniels Defense RIS and SUSAT legit? The SUSAT is a real favorite of mine.

No, everything is welded in place. The gun can be opened up by removing the pins but that's the extent of it. As far as I know the rail and sight are genuine.
I agree that this is a very cool gun, certainly one of the prize pieces of my collection. It's just a pity the mechanism is welded up so I can't cycle the action like I can with my L1A1 SLR.

Damn, you have an SLR? I've wanted one for absolute years! Is it old spec?

Wow, an SLR, man. That's cool as hell.

Yes, when I bought the SLR the welded solid specification had not yet been introduced. Since then I've been able to upgrade it with a SUIT sight and also the rarely seen rifle grenade launching attachment.

Love this gun. Fired it and I find it accurate, reliable and with good range. The bullshit about how bad it is, is rather annoying.

Did you fire the A1 or A2 version? All the bad things I've heard have been about the A1, but nothing bad about the upgraded A2.

A2 but I mostly fire the cadet rifle.

Very cool!

Any plans to add any more detail to it? I've seen many of these equipped with ladder rail covers and also the LLM01 laser/light module.

It depends on what parts I can get hold of.

Are those sorts of things difficult to acquire where you live?

I've not seen either of the parts you've mentioned. It's taken me more than 10 years to gather everything in the photo.

Not the genuine article, but appearance wise, it's an exact match to the one the British Armed Forces use: Β www.ebairsoft.com/element-ex21…
