Description
Chandra, in a rare, quiet moment of not burninating everything in sight.I've always had a soft spot for firehairs. Both visually, and their mythical propensity for passion. I've always figured that the hair that grows inside my brain is red.

My jaw just hit the floor. She's gorgeous, of course, but I mean, the hair, the leather, metal...it's breathtaking.

I share your soft spot for redheads if I'm honest, especially in fantasy themes. This... is beyond gorgeous. I love this so much!

Thanks!
Yes, I built the chain mail in 3D, and had some basic spheres and cubes for lighting reference for much of the rest.

One of these days, I'll do a walkthrough, or a video tutorial of how I use 3D in a painting. I imagine it'd be fairly useful for digital artists.

Wow, for the first time I've got a nerdy criticism to throw at you. The bit sticking up from her shoulder on her left side should actually be on her right because it's a piece designed to prevent the wearer from being decapitated. It's usually on the other side because sword fighters swing right handedly so the piece has to be on that side.
Hope I made sense.

Totally makes sense. What are they called? Pauldrons? Necksavers? Something like that.
I actually had the same thought. The character was developed, and already had a painting done before they let me take a crack at it. So I kept everything like it was.
Of course, she could be left handed...

Amazing work! ...in respects to it being on the wrong shoulder... for arguments sake... if you flip your canvas horizontally... would it not then be on the correct shoulder? ...Well done on this of course, wicked job!

The pauldrons are the shoulders, I can't for the life of me recall what the piece is called.

That would be a "haute piece". They were just as much for keeping spears out of the wearers face as well, when they were on horseback.
So, I believe what we have here is a "hot piece" with a "haute piece". Love it!!!

It was originally commissioned to promote something on a Japanese social networking site, called MIXI. But beyond that, I'm not sure how they used it.
