This is the Girl version:I painted this but don't take credit for the idea. This is a commission for " 's idea that he wanted to bring to life.
The concept behind this is the fact that Jack has had a hard life she wouldn't want that for her baby. In return would make for a wonderful mother. She would want to give to her child what was denied to her at the Teltin Facility.
Some may agree or disagree with that idea but for me personally I would have to agree because I have seen this in other lives where having a baby would melt even the coldest of hearts.
The painting depicts the view from Jack's eyes. She's laying on her back looking up at her baby while holding him/her with biotics.
Kudos to ~flatlinedreams for a winning idea.

reminded me of a scene from Farscape, near the end when the 2 main characters "present" their baby to the universe. or his new playground!. and lift him up in the observation deck ( or sth similar).

I just completed mass effect 2 and jack died when i lauched the suicide mission but legion and garrus samara miranda and mordin survived everyone else died all my fav charatcters died!
BUT AT LEAST I FINISHED IT! ONLY DIED ONCE!

This is very nice. I could picture Jack as a good mother. Maybe not the world's warmest, but definately protective. I can't picture her raising her baby to be "a good little child" the baby would proably be raised on adventure with a high renegade score right out of the playpen. ^_^ She has some major trust issues, but I think it'd be differen't with a baby. Afterall, who can resist a happy glowing baby?

Hey thanks! I appreciate that kindness. Yeah I think everyone has known or have been friends with the "Hard Case" but everyone knows they're big softies. They're human and have a heart, no one is the exception to the rule. I remember watching a documentary on a guy called the "Ice Man" big guy that was pretty much a hit man. He did horrible things to people and didn't think twice about it. But while interviewing him in prison the subject of his family was brought up and he broke down and cried.

They're both lovely images but a part of me likes this one more if only because I especially like the idea of Jack softening up and ensuring that her daughter doesn't fall into the same vices she did.
On a different but still related note, I always use FemShep so obviously the baby wouldn't be hers (unless the future fixes that

Painting something believably first-person is quite a task. There are so many things to consider in the composition like limb size, perspective on the subject, not to mention that this was done with Jack LYING DOWN, looking up. How often does anyone really stop and look up? Your idea or not, I knew instantly that what we were seeing was a ceiling and the best art only leaves you with the RIGHT questions
The biotics are smooth. I could see a lot of temptation to really drown out the rest of the piece with the effect (considering how it is reflected in the game), but it only adds vibrancy to the piece overall. And speaking of color, can I put out there that I like how you totally avoided a truer pink in the "girl" version?
Which leads me to something I just thought of... I got the feeling immediately that this was Jack "cradling" her child. How you render something, the care that you put into direction of the lines and their sharpness can inject emotions of various kinds. Knowing Jack as much as anyone who has finished her story arc knows her, the juxtaposition of the arms of one-once-a-merciless-killer so obviously cradling a child with such care is a stunning effect and an excellent way to portray an epilogue to someone like her

I do agree with this idea. I've thought about it myself for many times.
At first Shepard heals Jack with his love, makes it possible for her to trust people again.
After that, I'm sure, she'll be ready to express herself and be a great mother.
