Description
Commission Art for 's original fan fiction character "Andromeda" in the Mass Effect Universe.This particular piece is the artwork for a chapter she's working on. Description from Xenowriter
Andromeda is a C-Sec Officer. She learns of the death of Sidonis and goes out to find the murderer which ends up being Garrus. She confronts him on ilium while he's there on a mission with Shepard. Garrus and Andromeda have a past history where they both care about each other but never acted on the feelings.
Garrus is outraged about her investigation and he feels justified for what he has done. When she confronts him, words lash out and then anger takes over and he grabs her neck against the wall and glares at her. That's the scene I want. Basically waist up with focus on their faces. Garrus' hand will be around her neck and fire will be in his eyes. Andromeda will have a look of shock and fear.

I know. I read your description, I wanted to know what influenced you to draw this. Read what you wrote carefully:"That's the scene I want. Basically waist up with focus on their faces. The image of a man dominating a woman who is helpless and afraid.

I am the person who writes that fanfiction. He did not choose the scene...I did. That is a scene in one of my upcoming chapters and I asked him to draw that. I find the scene to be very dramatic and powerful. It has nothing to do with what he likes.
Please know the background of the piece and the story before you come to conclusions against the artist who was merely do a commission for the writer.

LOL I think you're reading too much into this. The description is from the author's email to me to give me an idea to create the scene for the artwork she hired me to do. Does this make the author or artist someone who condones to abuse towards women? Seriously? I think not. It is merely a climatic scene to the chapter. If we took this approach on everything, a lot of people would fall into this category from a lot of the books, movies and games they play. If you played any game that had this content in it wouldn't you fall into this category? We play Shepard in Mass Effect that kills female mercs....does this make Bioware liable for condoning to abuse towards women? Come on
Your initial comment wasn't to critique or to compliment but yet to reflect something negative to my character. If you truly believe this of me, you know nothing of me and you basically just judged a book by it's cover.

I could about the whole lot of the great aspects of this piece. But I think I'll focus on the thing that stood out to me the most; Andromeda's face.
It is your skill of subtlety at its best. There's surprise, confusion, familiarity, concern for her friend, fear and a hint of warning that she is still not entirely helpless in the situation. And it's topped off by some amazing eyes.

Thank you, much appreciated! I tried to use as much references I could to make a unique Andromeda, it's a challenge to me when creating an imaginary person instead of painting from one reference. It's amazing to me how the slightest shade can throw the human face off.

It would be cool if they did a version of Dragon Age Origins where you can go back and replay it as a different character. That would be cool to play through the Archangel part as Garrus.

Yeah definitely.If you haven't tried Dragon Age: Origins yet I would highly recommend it. Same people behind that game with the same quality of character development and story telling. I didn't think I would like it after playing ME 1 and 2 but now I bounce back between the two. Been playing a little more of Dragon Age though.
