So I have been working on my character's backstory for a little while now, and have basically come to a stopping point. Due to the GM being posted out of state, I'm not sure what is going to happen to poor old Iceglint. Which is too bad, since there is a lot in the story that fleshes out the Aarakocra and how they might interact with other cultures. I had spent quite some time thinking about what kinds of things they might do when dealing with other races, and while the various write-ups of the species paints things in broad strokes, the nitty gritty details that would make them interesting are left to the imagination.
Iceglint is a character that is necessarily a bit outside the norm for most aarakocra, who for the most part are isolationist. But in a world where at least a subset of the sky folk have to deal with outsiders, they would develop certain coping mechanisms, several of which I tried to work out in this document.
Feel free to read it, and hopefully it will at least entertain you. It still needs a lot of work, and an ending, as detailed by the notes at the end of the document. I am open to any comments and constructive criticisms you may have. In addition, you may also think about some aspects of aarakocra life that I may not have, and those inputs would also be useful in fleshing out their ethnology (such as it is).
I've added quite a bit since the last posting (on Mar 12), but it's still not done. I am a bit more happy with it, though. This version also includes an introductory prologue giving an overview of the character, and the racial write-up from the D&D books. And some pictures, some made by me (Iceglint, and Eyrie-Above-The-Rainbows) and some scavenged from the web.

The file is in PDF format, available from the download button on the right. The reason it is 5.1MB in size is likely due to the images that have been imbedded in the file.
