I am using a graphite pen at the moment...but am not that satisfied with it cause it smears a lot. Hope to spare some money to get some drawing lessons soon...its very rare to find something in my area though.
Keep up the "crap" for your own good. It always inspires me...

My advice, no need for lessons bud, it's all about sketching and seeing how everything around you works, from lighting to kinematics. It's simple, you as human make it hard so it seems somewhat impossible, but it's all about your train of thought

You have very creative pieces, trust me, you're on the right path, just keep sketching and build that confidence, don't worry about people's crits, it's all about what you enjoy in the end. Now go kick ass

1000 LOL, Never 1000, the max rez anyone should color on is 400DPI But 300 DPI is perfect enough

actually for a inked colored it might be 300 but for a professional career 600 dpi would be the least and most comic book companies like marvel i'm sure use no less than 1000. 300 is only acceptable for web since the web can't display alot of definition. You're was only 100 when i downloaded it. Esp in the way I color which is super fast and easy. I sure of this.

I've been in this biz for years, 300 is just fine while 400 Can be used it's still overkill for small jobs. Comics etc...

what kind of biz have you been in...not try to insult you but that would be weird 400 or less. It comes out horrible when coloring esp if you download if from the web which is usually 300. Honestly just look at a marvel or dc comicbook you've see the resolution is really detailed. Try to scan one and it be blurry if its under 600. I'm saying this from experience not that i'm a published professional. And i'm talking about coloring professionally not just to color.

Probably my last message cause you might get irritated but no it is not. I've look around on this issue for some time online and its more pixels or what you called dpi more than 1000 resolution pixels. Not the way i color which is quick and easy. 300 is unacceptable but not in manga, japenesse anime probably but if you want your image to be crisp and clear without the pencil or ink details missing it has be at least 600 dpi nor more no less for inked drawings. I would say 1000 is the max the way i color uninked pencil drawings easily.
