Description
Okay, here's some quick texture and detail talk to get some of ya'll going. Now remember, for all you noobs out there, focus more on SKETCHING rather than detail work, leave that for when you get better with your anatomy drawings okay. But you can also practice on the sideAight, get going and watch the vid

Thanks for the Vid! I been watching these I love'em TY for taking the time to help all of us out. Any tips on a descent cheap scanner brand? Got to get one so I can beg u for a critique

Thanks As for scanners, hit Staples up and score anything to get your image in. There's always clean up after the image is scanned so nuttin to it but to do it
As far as crits, Sketch a lot and have fun during the process. That's normally my answer due to the fact that that's really the only answer to learn how to draw. You're the only one who can really critique your own stuff after all. If you don't like it, why would you ask someone else? Ya see my point

XDD You're actually funny. I like that. :3 Very awesome, I watched the whole thing! Haha. I was worried I'd get bored, since shading and stuff like that normally bores me to death. X3; Probably why I can't do it. Anyways, thanks for the help and I plan to look through your gallery to see if I can find some examples of these. ^^ Definate Fave~

Thanks for all the great tutorials! I love your style and am greatful for the chance to learn from you. Also thanks a lot for adding the rocks part, I'm pretty terrible at drawing rocks so that's really helpful.

Got a question to this part: What is the difference you want to show us between the two rocks you just drew?
And hey, it's a really nice movie, thx a lot for it!

Great tutorial. However, what I think would be even better would be some real application of the cross hatching, like what kinds of outfits or surfaces drives most pencilers to apply various texturing techniques. Maybe if you did like a torso and applied some cross hatching to it to show one school of thought on direct application of the technique, you know?
Either way, it's quite a fine tutorial and definitely a helpful one to me. I've been kind of stuck on how to draw decent water and rocks for a while.
