I'm just obsessed with zooming at the moment.
It took approx 115 hours to render the download sized image on my now aging machine.

..and you really have an eye (and knowledge) for the motives in the hidden depth of the M set
It's about five days omg: May I ask how many GHz processor you have

Thankyou.
My processor: Intel Celeron 2.53 GHz. I want a multicore pc for next christmas...

..and I have a 2.6 GHz. I have made two 60 hours renderings, this [link] and this [link] My next computer I want be about ten times as fast. And it will not run under Vista

If I had found this barrier in a different place - say the big west midget - it would probably have rendered a lot faster. But I rather like the "background" double spirals...
Your image Cauliflowerfort is inspiring. The 3d mandelbrot images are something I'm still trying to get my head round but it looks fascinating

Yeah, one have to choice the fine structures carefully, and I myself really love these slow 2-armed spirals, especially when one is some turn out And regarding the barriers you've really discovered the method of "not zoom into the center a couple of times"
I've frequently use that zoom sequence to inspire the new generation of fractal artists.
My earlier 3D motives (from cubic parameter space) are linked in my old journal [link] . If you don't have the formulas, you have them in the zip [link]

I really love the "oval" class of barriers that you get when you do exactly as you described.

The underlying combinatorial rules (which I don't fully master) are very fascinating
BTW, you probably have seen this [link] one

It's OK, do as your heart tells you
..Sorry, I can't post the parameter file since it drawn with fractal eXtreme..
