i don't know D: i didn't done it yet. my mum doesn't allow it, but i think it must be made brighter, maybe bleaching. but it would be hard for my hair. but i want it sometimes. ://

If you dyed it bright red now I think it would look black still but would have a red tint when the sun caught it. That would be very cool.

mh.. yes. i wanted to tint it dark red. in the end my hair was darker then now and it shined in violett-dark red. : D THAT was cool : D
