Description
[copied from old gallery]I'm taking a zbrush class this quarter, hoorah! We were tasked with coming up with a game idea and three things (simple object, medium monster, and complex character) that we get to model out.
Fredericka, my fighter from D&D, got thrown into a story where she's a candidate to be a valkyrie and she fights her way through monsters and enemies to prove herself worthy. I took away her bulky plate armor and gave her some new duds, and she got a new hair-do.
My professor seemed to like her design in class, but I'm all for any suggestions before I have to start working on her in a few weeks.
One of these days I'll stick with one face for Fredericka, she keeps changing >.<
EDIT For those of you wondering how she turned out in 3D, here she is [link]
I'm not particularly proud of how it turned out, so I'm not posting it in my gallery.

Now don't get me wrong she's pretty awesome and I think it's a great character design.... but, one suggestion (take it or leave it), the headress in the back. I think it's supposed to be leather bands, but they look like feathers, and if there feathers than I'd say it looks a wee out of place. I think that some small minature wings, or simply flipping the feathers to point upwards would look more like the traditional valkyrie.
Either way, keep up the quality work.

In the illustration they are indeed leather strips that are supposed to resemble feathers. In the model I've been making they're feathers now. I actually purposely pointed them downwards because, well, she's not a valkyrie yet. Plus it made her a little untraditional. I used that dastardly artistic license, lol. Thank you for the input though :3

You know it's kind of funny because after I posted it, I actually did wonder if it was a Valkyrie in training sort of thing and then laughingly dismissed it... I guess I was proven wrong. I hope to see more of your art soon.

I thought that meant that it was the beta design, like this was the design you were proposing, but if you got some really awesome suggestion or if you decided to change it afterwards it would have a follow up image like "The Valkyrie Final", perhaps in Zbrush (drools)...

lawl, oh well. There will be a Zbrush follow up, unfortunately thanks to another class that demanded too much of my time, it won't be much of an improvement
