Rendering the Blitz Panther in Maya with mental ray. I know it's a bit shiny, I expect I'll tone it down a bit! Just completed the rigging of the Panther, I'm going to get back to practicing animation with this sucker. This is the MkIIb - there are a few extra details such as the little scope-thingies on the shoulders.Related content

Reminds me of the Cannon Panther... It's nice to see this zoid in different poses like this and I like the metallic shine. It's a little distracting but it makes the piece appear more detailed than it is.

The shininess is actually really easy to do in Maya, so long as you've got some interesting, smooth surfaces to apply it to.

Yea, I usually see how certain parts of some of my models would look shiny but I haven't been doing it too much lately.

OOH SHINY! I don' think it's a bad thing at all, it makes it look much more metallic.
And considering its made of metal, that's excellent.

I don't know exactly - it's pretty expensive! I'm using the latest demo version, so my time is quickly running out with it!
