Description
Please disregard the run animation in my previous deviation, I've got much better ones here!Fairly self exlanatory this, just click them buttons! The first two just loop, the last one has a bit more to it.
The quality of the videos suffer in this format, as does the framerate. Not sure what's going on with that, the raw movies are smoother than are shown in this little flash animation!
Edit: to watch the final movie that these animations were created for, go here: [link]

Zoids.
And I'm just be techincal here but to maxumize thrust. You could just stabilizer wings like the Liger Zero has to create downward air flow which in turn would increase traction while running.

I could have sworn I've commented on these before, but I don't see it. Anyway, you have a real talent for these! You can tell that his body isn't as flexible as the way-stretching stride of the liger 0, but the long front limbs and short back limbs seem to make up for that. I'd love to see how this guy handles in a fight!
Someday...

What sort of animation software do you use? Cause this looks amazing.

I'm really jealous of your ability to create something like this. ^^
With that said, the back legs seem really stiff, as if the calf/foot joint doesn't work.

Yeah, its definitely an area I'm working on in my new stuff. It's because there's so little time to flick the back legs out and bring them back in again in this sequence.

It would have to be integrated with the flicking of the other parts of the legs, right?

Blitz Panther is love.
The booster animation seems a bit awkward... maybe have it take longer strides as opposed to quicker ones? That's all I can think of critique-wise, though.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm working on something much better at the moment, I'll take your critique into consideration for that.

Most excellent, Stompy. So excited to see you working with your CG stuff again
Curious: how much is the Blitz Panther supposed to weigh? (in relation to say, the Fox or the Liger Zero?) The Flash run cycle is pretty near spot-on looking for a lighter Zoid, but the mere existence of more frames in the youtube version makes it look heavy.
Curious which is intended?

Thanks! Although I'm sure by now your animation skills far exceed my own! As for panther weight: lighter than the ligers, probably a similar weight to the foxes - smaller but more dense. I was definitely going for a lighter stride than the Liger Zero's in NC0 (The Zoid animation benchmark in my opinion!), but after watching Ravage speeding around in Transformers 2 I thought that something the size of a small house bounding around like a squirrel looks a bit ridiculous! I prefer the Youtube version, but probably only because it is smoother. I'm going for a gait of about half a second so I can time it with Wild Flowers (The Chaotic Century/Guardian Force theme/something-good-is-about-to-happen track).

I think the front legs need to fling out more in the runβand look a bit more like they're pushing off the ground. I describe that badly, but something about them looks off there, like they don't have enough weight? Otherwise, looking much spiffier...nice to see you animating again!

Stompy1 In reply to pointytilly [2010-01-20 22:02:35 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! I think I know what you mean - I spent a lot of time tweaking the front legs and there's still not something quite right about them. I don't think the panther holds his paws out for long enough while stretching.

Hrm, scratch the fling out half of that, that may have been flash chucking a wobbly on my end x_o.
Boosters .
