Don't you people Understand?! Sometimes they NEED to trace, if they suck at art it's the only thing they can do, so just back off People tracing.

That's not a valid argument, no one ever NEEDED to trace. I got better by practicing for years. If you want to get better just do your own sketches daily. You will get better, believe me. Tracing does not help you as much as learning from your own artwork.

ehm. simple solution:
Practice with their own art and REFERENCE. tutorials, etc. etc. I became good at art by practicing and practicing. I mean sure, I suppose tracing is alright if you're trying to learn porportions and all that but holy shit people don't POST IT.

No, they need to start by drawing badly drawn stuff, nobody starts being perfect.
So please do not trace, search for a tutorial or something, there are lots of them.

Wow... and I used to trace too in 3rd grade 
I'll never trace, even if my life depends on it.
And I hate re-colors.
But what's worse are bases- The people are pretty much giving others coloring books. GIVING them out. And it takes even less time and effort than tracing. No one gets anything out of it.

When I was young, people said me to "trace" some arts to learn stuff like positions and anatomy... but I never , NEVER wanted to do that...

Ah, I remember when I was younger, I used to trace a picture and be so proud of it.
Then I would give it to a friend (sometimes) and say "I drew this. Isn't it awesome?"
Now I don't trace things anymore. I actually draw my stuff. It may not be good, at least it's my own. And it will improve overtime. (:
So, yus, I hate it when I see when something as been traced.
But it's even worse when someone searches a picture on the Internet, loads it onto MS Paint, and colours over it. That's just lazy. >^<

It's not theft if you trace your own work. If you don't give credit, it's theft. If you have permission from the original artist and they say "Of course : D" and not, "Okay . . . " or "I guess . . . " or stuff like that, then it's more . . . I don't want to saw "okay", but I guess, "decent" is a better word choice.
