I've never red 'Cupcakes', and by Celestia, I don't plan too; the description of what happens in it from KnowYourMeme was enough to disturb me.DON'T. READ. CUPCAKES. Even if this comic drives you to want to read it, DON'T.
Unless, of course, you want to 1) ruin your impression of MLP:FiM, 2) want to scar yourself for life, or 3) like that sort of stuff, which I clearly don't.
EDIT: Ok, I've told that I've caused some sort of reverse psychology. I apologise if I've caused you to read Cupcakes. It wasn't supposed to happen.

Really cupcakes isn't all that bad, but I did read it with someone who had posted commentary throughout so maybe it wasn't as bad as just reading it.

You and me both. I have heard mostly negative criticism about Cupcakes and how it ruins the image that people once had for Pinkie Pie. I swear, these fanfictions want to ruin my view on both MLP and delicious snacks. I don't ever plan to read it, no matter how many people reference it. Its not that I'm scared to read it, or that I think I would be too squeamish, its just that I see Pinkie Pie as a cheerful pony, and I want it to STAY that way. Plus, I heard that the story itself has a bad plot, and that the characters' personality nowhere near resembles their actual personality.

Cupcakes was the first MLP:FiM fic I ever read, and I don't have a problem with Pinkie. I guess it depends largely on how much the reader can stomach.

I don't recommend it. The storyline was bad. The grammar was bad. It did not capture any of the characters, and was simply too unrealistic.
A REAL chef would know that adrenaline shots would make for a horrible taste in the finished product.

I don't see why people are so terrorized by it. It's so obviously NOT pinky. She's crraazzyy, but not psycho. She's just a ponie that likes fun and parties. Psycho cannibal ponies do not like parties and fun. They do not like entire herds trooping around in their house dancing and singing. Why? Because someone could find out their secret.

Secondly, what do you mean by 'the reverse psychology'? All of that is the honest truth. (Unless, it's accidental reverse psychology, in that case, whoops!).

The reason I have an opinion is because of the many references in pony art. I might just be biased... I really don't want to read it, though; reading about what happened in the story was enought to scare the shhhhhh...ivers, out of me.

Fan-Fiction is pretty dangerous - not to mention with pairing, using harsh words, sexual themese, "Trollestia", "Mollestia" and other non-FiM content. It has nasty habit to scare ppl interested in FiM away.
IΒ΄ve heard a lot of terrible things about "Cupcakes", but never had bravery to read it. And I wonΒ΄t. Some of those people really said, that they will never see Pinkie as hyperactive cutie. And that is terrible, terrible shame. Plus, few of those who read it, felt nausea or nearly vomiting.
So...
