Description At this point, I won't exactly be posting the Nowra Pokédex in numerical order, as the numbers are not all finalized yet. However, here's the Nowran form of Rockruff and Lycanroc; the latter of which gets renamed over the course of your journey.

Nowra Pokédex No. 30
Rockruff
Nowran Form
Puppy Pokémon
Type: Ground
HT: 1'08"/0.5m
WT: 9.2kg/20.3lbs
Ability: Keen Eye, Ball Fetch (Hidden Ability: Vital Spirit)
Pokédex Entry 1: Rockruff are very active and loyal, making them great for trainers. As they grow, their disposition becomes more wild in nature.
Pokédex Entry 2: In the Nowra region, Rockruff are trained to herd farm Pokémon. They are able to keep even raging Tauros in line.

Nowra Pokédex No. 31
Lycanroc
Sand Form
Wolf Pokémon
Type: Ground/Rock
HT: 2'04"/0.7m
WT: 33.1lbs/15kg
Ability: Keen Eye, Sand Stream (Hidden Ability: Speed Boost)
Pokédex Entry 1: These Pokémon hunt in packs of up to ten, kicking up the desert sand with their bushy tails to disorient prey. They are Nowra's most effective predators.
Pokédex Entry 2: Lycanroc were brought to Nowra long ago and went through many changes since then to adapt to this region's landscape. These changes are so drastic when compared to their Alolan variants, it's debated whether this Pokémon is still a Lycanroc or a different Pokémon entirely.

Lycanroc
Mud Form
Wolf Pokémon
Type: Ground/Fighting
HT: 3'03"/1m
WT: 33.1lbs/15kg
Ability: Keen Eye, Intimidate (Hidden Ability: Moxie)
Pokédex Entry 1: With their face-concealing hoods and ominous glowing eyes, this form of Lycanroc was originally thought to be a Dark type. We now know that these traits are simply how it protects itself and navigates in the damp darkness of extremely dense rainforests.
Pokédex Entry 2: This Pokémon lives deep within the rainforest to hone its fighting style. It loves to challenge itself by trying to restrain itself with sticky mud and win battles in spite of the handicap.

These regional forms of Rockruff and Lycanroc are based on the Australian cattle dog and the dingo, respectively, with Rockruff's main colors being based on the "red heeler" coloration of the dog breed and the shiny colors based on the blue heeler coloration. I wanted to make this line be a sort of middle ground (get it?) between the idea of your typical regional variant as introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon and that of the regional evolution as introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield, perhaps being an example of the process of a regional evolution being distinguished as such. This would reference the recent discoveries as to the real-world dingo's taxonomy. At first, dingoes were considered descendants of domestic dogs, thus making them a subspecies of wolf. But starting around 2019, scientists have determined that the dingo's genetics, history, and behaviors are enough to make the dingo its own species. Because of this, this Pokémon will have its species' name changed throughout the course of the story, and its Dex entry will be updated accordingly. To make the change feel more natural, this will be preceded by some trainers who use it nicknaming it the new name: Dingrowl.

Dingrowl (from dingo+growl+ground)
Sand Form
Dingo Pokémon
Type: Ground/Rock
HT: 2'04"/0.7m
WT: 33.1lbs/15kg
Ability: Keen Eye, Sand Stream (Hidden Ability: Speed Boost)
Pokédex Entry 1: Many years ago, Dingrowl were brought by ancient travelers to Nowra. They are vital to the region's ecosystem because they keep nuisance Pokémon in check.
Pokédex Entry 2: After much discourse and research, scientists have determined Dingrowl to be a distinct species from Lycanroc, the Alolan Pokémon from which it descended.

Dingrowl
Mud Form
Dingo Pokémon
Type: Ground/Fighting
HT: 3'03"/1m
WT: 33.1lbs/15kg
Ability: Keen Eye, Intimidate (Hidden Ability: Moxie)
Pokédex Entry 1: Humans have tried to keep Dingrowl away from their Mareep and Wooloo farms by building a massive fence. However, this Pokémon has found ways to get through sometimes.
Pokédex Entry 2: Although it often lives alone, this Pokémon will form an extremely close bond with a trainer it deems worthy and protect them with its life. Its hood gives added protection from heavy rains.

Dingrowl's Sand Form has a signature move called Dune Dash, which is essentially Accelerock but as a Ground type move, and the Mud Form has a signature move called Clay Kick, a Ground type move that is powerful but lowers the user's Speed.
