You know what? I've made a discovery in the last couple years that surprised me. Even though I don't wear dresses all that often, I love designing them. When I saw that one of the options for this challenge was to draw a flower themed outfit, I jumped at the chance to dress my three main girls up.

Nan (right) required no thought on my part because there is no option in my mind better than a sunflower. She's bright and unashamedly happy while being surprisingly strong and impressive when you get close enough to see it. A sunflower's use as something that can be eaten and something that is farmed also points to Nan's practical nature and background as a farmer's daughter.

Entasa (middle) took a bit more consideration but I was happy to settle on a snapdragon. These little guys don't quite look like what you'd expect when picturing a flower. They're a bit more, complicated and difficult to understand then that. They also have a more aggressive sounding name which, combined with all the other traits, make them perfect for Entasa.

For Wren (left) I wanted something more simple and unassuming. I decided to honor my state flower by choosing a wood violet. These flowers aren't flashy or exotic (to me at least) but they're content to grow wild in quiet beauty, content to make their own little corner of the world a better place. That matched Wren's general attitude towards life pretty well, although I have to admit, her dress ended up way more elegant then I expected when I first started out. Oh well, she deserves it.
