Description
(previous: Bad news | next: Checkup )(gallery folder )
Jessica had never heard the term "double shoulder spica", and the doctor's explanation was cut short by an emergency code. Jessica had no idea what to expect when she was taken to a cast room -- she had been too afraid to ask the nurses or cast techs about what was in store for her. Her ignorance let her cling to some hope that perhaps this wasn't real, perhaps she could just keep her arm casts and try to ignore the pain in her upper arms.
Time seemed to move so quickly once Jessica was seated in the cast room. Before she knew it, both of her arm casts had been cut off, and she was terrified as the techs helped her remove her tank top. She started to cry as stockinette was applied to her arms, torso, and neck, when she came to the realization that she was being placed in a body cast. "Please don't do this", she begged, but the cast techs somberly explained that this was necessary, and Jessica kept quiet for the remainder of the cast application.
Before she knew it, one of the techs mentioned that her cast was complete. Jessica was so overwhelmed that she hadn't consciously realized she'd kept her eyes closed for most of the process, and she started sobbing again as she saw her forearms held out in front of her. Some parts of the cast were warm, others were cool and clammy, and she could hear a hissing crackling sound around her neck and shoulders. The techs instructed her to hold still to let her cast fully harden and then left the room, saying that one of them would be back in a few minutes to check on her.
Jessica was overcome with claustrophobia as she sat on the bench, alone in the cast room. She wanted to pretend this wasn't happening, to run away from this situation ... and she was crushed as she realized she couldn't. She was in this cast now -- there was no "running" from it; she had no choice but to carry her prison with her wherever she went.
Most of the stories I post involve women wearing extremely restrictive casts for fun (perhaps their partners' fun), or punishment of some sort, or other things along those lines. After exploring stories like
- "your girlfriend tricked you into spending a month with both of you in fiberglass cast straitjackets and pairs of pointed-toe leg casts
"
- "your partner encased your entire upper body in pink fiberglass, including covering your mouth and over your nose, and you're not allowed to wear anything but shoes and the cast"
- "you're stuck wearing a rigid Christmas sweater which totally immobilizes your arms, but it's okay, you goaded your cousin into spending even longer in something similar
"
I wanted to reset a bit and focus on how devastating it would be to wear a "simple" Risser DSS for a few weeks.
(I'm definitely still going to continue all of the stories I've started and start new ones that are similar; I just wanted to continue Jessica's story a little ahead of schedule.)
---
Side note: I believe this is the first story line I've posted in which a large restrictive cast is medically necessary for broken bones, instead of just used for secure long-term restraint.

Such a cast can really be dauntingΒ
That can only be a very rude realization for Jessica, that she will stuck a unknown time in her new prisonΒ

Again a poor girl trapped in a body cast is left alone by professionals of the hospital!
It seems the employees of hospitals are not very empathic.
Well, or maybe the waiting queue is full of other people waiting for their body cast!
Who knows...

She could try to run away.
But that is a very silly option.

Nice, option #3. The rigid and attached 'neck brace' included with the body/shoulder cast.Β Β
While she does not realize it, and I'm sure she would argue otherwise in her current state of mind, the Risser cast is less restrictive than a Minerva cast. She will still have a small bit of movement in her head/neck. Granted it's not going to be much at all, but she'll learn to appreciate it as the weeks go by.

Feel sorry for her but she looks adoreable. At least that shade of blue goes well with her hair.
Looks very lovely around the neck too.

Yes, it's a lovely high resolution image as normal too, see every weave of the fabric.
May I take this opportunity to wish poor Jessica a very long, slow recovery.Β
