Description
Its been a long time since I went out to the city with the intention of shooting street..I was walking through the department store on my way to the bank, when this too-good-to-be-true subject caught my eye.
I didn't want to ruin the feel by kneeling and composing the shot, so I took a chance and shot from the hip.
I got the perfect pose, I think..
The lady in pink is not 100% in focus, the lady in white is, but I still like the shot.
Taken at the Pacific Center/Holt Renfrew overpass with big windows on either side, hence the super bright, almost overpowering whites.
I love the negative space at the top of this frame.

Firstly the graphic lines in this image create a very strong a impactual composition, which serves to draw the view in. The colours, and tones are amazing, and the lady in pink really stands out.
This is the sort of great image that just gets better for me the more I study it with my eyes. With street photography it's always hard to place the subjects exactly how you would like them, but also considering that you've shot this from the hip, you've executed thisju really well!
There are a few little distracting elements (such as bits appearing at the edge of the frame), but the image does feel very real which is a good thing.
I'm finding it hard to pick anything out I don't like about this image. I do find the people in the background slightly distracting, but in other ways they also add to the image.
Overall a superb street photograph, offering an unusually clean looking slice of real life.

Yes, her gracile pose is superb. You even see her fingers stretched out a bit, and behind them the white background.
Wonderful detail.
But of course it would be nicer if she would be more in focus. Maybe you could cut the picture at the right so only half of the woman in white will be visible.

Everything about this picture is just amazing, specially what the lady's wearing, reminds me a lot of those Yves Saint Luarent classic pantsuits from the late 70s .

Excellent shot, I love it! It could almost be a movie still, insert title of Audrey Hepburn movie into negative space... which works really well!

first comment...uhm...
i love your black&white shots, but when you go color, especially in shots like this one, it adds some strenght to the composition.
so, i'd say.. i love this one too.
seriously
keep up the good shots!
