I almost didn't post this. But the fact that I felt I wouldn't be able to post it only made it so I absolutely had to post it.

I decided to draw this picture in my own style, and adapt it to what I'm proud of.
I take pride in Christ.
I know I may get backlash, and I know this isn't what's popular right now, but that just means I must be doing something right.

I was scrolling my feed the other day and saw this pride themed "draw this in your style". At first I simply scrolled past - I've seen a lot of rainbows and "love is love"s this month.
But it got me thinking - what does "love is love" even mean? It's so vague. What is love? Real love.
Real love is hating what hurts those you love. Real love isn't always comfortable, nor is it always beneficial to us. We are to mimic Christ's love for us.
God is love. Christ 's actions for us on the cross were love.

Another thing that got me thinking was the use of the rainbow.
It's now almost always exclusively seen as a "gay pride" symbol, but that's not what it means to me, and that's not what it only has to mean.
It symbolizes hope in many cultures, and that definitely ties into what it means to me.
To me (and many others) it's a promise that God will never again flood the earth - it brings hope for the future and always reminds me that He is there.

A theme that often comes up in my art and personal life/interests is taking back earthly things and using them to glorify God in my own way, and that's what I'm doing today.
