Description
Crosstail, my first Transformers (proper) character. And I don't know which took me longer -- shading all the tech details, or deciding on a name/bio, heh
Did you know that there has never been an official Transformer with a fox alt mode? In all 20+ years, not a single one*.
So I made one up
Any resemblance to a certain 16-bit Capcom character was noticed early on, completely coincidental, and not quite as obvious as it was during its initial sketchy stages.
9x12" colored pencils, the rest is all vector decoration-ing in Inkscape. Fun fun
(I hope y'all don't go thinking that just because I got a camera now, I'm giving up on good ol' fashioned drawn artwork -- perish the thought!
(* - a.k.a. none that I know of.)

I later made her the central character for my Nanowrimo 2015.Β Her new profile was a bit different, but one of her core tenets (spending a majority of her time in beast mode) remained the same.
I haven't upload any chapter excerpts, but I did write a short that features her:
Robots in disguise (really)Wisps of black smoke greeted a morning sun as its first rays peered through thick clouds over the valley, revealing what yesterday was a lush green forest; today, however, the light found nothing in the valley but blackened ash, soot, and disintegrated ruins of metal and scrap. Β Nothing that called this area home still lived to bear witness of the massive fireball that had descended from the sky last night -- not even the nocturnal beasts of the valley could escape the destruction borne down upon them without warning.
Yet, while most creatures would have the good sense to stay away from lifeless charred remains, the scene also drew those of a more curious disposition, as a set of four padded feet trodded quietly through the ash. Β It was a large brown fox, its eyes winced half-shut from the smoke-tinged air and its already black legs rendered more so from knee-deep soot and dirt. Β Around one pile of burned scrap and another it wandered, keeping its nose low as if searchin

This is amazing, I found it by accident searching for pictures of Lubbock's Crosstail imperial arms from Akame Ga Kill

Hmm... "Any resemblance to a certain 16-bit Capcom character was noticed early on, completely coincidental"... *looks at head* Zero! Ha, neat. If you take a picture of Zero and compare it to Crosstail, her tail resembles Zero's (impossibly long) poytail, and her... 'helmet' (?) has two tips that vaguely resemble the ones on Zero's helmet. Haha, I see what you (accidentally) did there!

The truth of the matter is I didn't notice the resemblance until I had finished the design and was ready to start coloring. On the other hand, I did think of Samus's armor as inspiration for one or two details....

I think she's fantastic! Not enough fembots, that's for sure. :-P
She looks like Cheetor, is that the reference you were making?

No, actually, her initial sketches had a resemblance to Zero of Megaman X fame.

I think it turned out great!
Lovin' the detail you put into the fur and the robot details I rarely add descriptions or tech details to my character sheets, (... cause I know it's kinda annoying work
)

This is great! Beast Wars was my favourite chilhood TV show. The picture's really cool, not sure how the transformation is supposed to work though.
