Caspian's oddball personality is a part of his allure, as he has a way of winning people over indefinitely; those that begrudgingly insist they "just put up with him" are usually the ones who are now stuck with him for life. Confident in himself and those he cares about, Caspian firmly stands by anyone he holds dear, making him a potentially reliable friend... although, similar stubborn tendencies could just as easily make him a formidable rival.

On the flip side, this rose has his thorns. Caspian doesn't always think before he speaks, catching people off-guard with the occasional careless comment. There comes a point where he will inevitably hurt someone's feelings. He is ill-mannered and vulgar, with a somewhat crude or "inappropriate" sense of humor. While that isn't to say he'll shy away from battle, he would much prefer supporting others with his magic, while maintaining a sense of personal safety on the battlefield.

Josiah was raised the son of two talented mages, alongside his younger twin sisters. Unaffiliated with the military, his parents were well-known performers, working the streets of bigger towns and putting on shows for the enjoyment of others. You can't say Josiah was very "proud" of his parents' line of work - as a matter of fact, he was mildly embarrassed to discuss it. Overall, he was already known as the nerdy kid on the block, who did little but focus on his books all day. He was an easy target for torment as it was, but was soon lead to feel ashamed of the life his parents had given him, as other children so loved to tease him for it.

At the time, many people found Josiah's blunt tendencies to be more than a little overbearing. However, as he grew older (and puberty hit), he began to earn the respect of his peers, and was even considered something of a ladies' man in his teen years. Essentially, the same things that made him "annoying" as a child were suddenly considered "charming" and "quirky" when he became hot. Go figure. But what he lacked in power, Josiah made up for with good looks and charisma. After living a childhood of vulnerability, he was just beginning to feel more comfortable with where he was, as the recent positive attention went right to his head. With the confidence he had gained, Josiah wouldn't let himself be a victim any longer...

...Or at least that's what he told himself at the time.

In truth, this newfound boldness was yet another attempt at shielding his insecurity from the world. He lived a shallow life, unsure of who he could trust, for fear of once again finding himself pushed around at the hand of others if he showed even an inkling of weakness. It wasn't until a scary run-in with a robber that Josiah's delusions were finally shattered, leaving him feeling more defenseless than ever. In a way, this encounter was somewhat of an eye-opener. He realized that it wasn't enough to look confident, but he knew he had to live it, too. Thus, Josiah considered learning proper self-defense, as a means of feeling safe again. This was enough to rekindle his love for magic, much to his parents' delight - although, it wasn't long before he became obsessed with getting stronger. His constant need to give his all in everything drove him on, and he wouldn't rest until he was the best.

At one point, he had even been considered gifted for his age, but somewhere along the line, he'd grown lazy and all but completely abandoned his teachings. However, as soon as they learned of Josiah's intention of enlisting in the military, they came to regret being so eager to lend a hand.

While struggling to respect his decision, his parents remained scared for his well-being. They did all they could to convince him not to go, but if they knew anything about their son, it was that when he had his mind set on something, there was no swaying him otherwise. Followed by a tearful farewell from his family, and a promise to return to visit, Josiah left home at age 18 to undergo proper military training and serve the Kingdom of Soleil. Seeing as he was coming to a new place and would be met with a fresh start elsewhere, Josiah chose to create an entirely new identity for himself, in a poetic last attempt at leaving behind who he used to be.

"Josiah" is now Caspian, a man who acts as though he's far above his previous self. While he has made great strides in the years since, whether or not this is completely true is debatable.

· He actually named himself "Caspian" after a book character he greatly admired. (Nerd.)
· His ancestors were nomads, who settled down in Soleil long before his time. Because of this, he has a very mixed lineage.
· Enjoys taking long walks whenever he's stressed or just has too much going on. Being up and about helps him clear his mind, so you may see him wandering around late at night.
· He has a secret passion for stars and constellations. This is another reason why he might be up and about late.
· While he usually obeys orders and doesn't often stray from a plan, occasionally Caspian will recklessly decide, "Hey, I just had a better idea!" and go do his own thing. Often with little to no communication with others. It's a work-in-progress...
· He likes some of the worst pick-up lines. Whether or not they're intentionally silly is debatable.
· He doesn't wear the obnoxious cape all the time. He'll usually go without it indoors, or in a casual environment.
· A real sucker for pretty people, especially young ladies. He'll try to be smooth (emphasis on the "try") but it isn't difficult to get him tongue-tied and starry-eyed when in the presence of someone cute. He's easily taken advantage of as a result.
· His twin sisters are named Josephine and Joan. Yes, his parents thought the name thing was a good idea at the time. Regardless, Cas is extremely protective over them.
· His favorite boots have a slight wedge in the heel, to make him appear vaguely taller... It makes him feel better about himself.
· Caspian has a habit of crossing his arms in his sleeves when he's lying. He does do this casually from time to time, but if you happen to catch this when he's trying to tell you he "didn't do it", he did it. Whatever it is.
· Alternatively, he sometimes bites his nails when he's nervous. (At least, when he thinks nobody's looking.) He's trying to stop.
