I tried to lean Aleu towards a more "Balto 1" style...
I don't even hate Aleu's official design, so to speak. Considering what sequels can do to a movie, I think her design could have been a lot worse/more boring; at least they tried to make her look like a mix between her parents in color and markings. I hate her body type, though--that huge scruff-less neck bugs the shit out of me--it's just not constructed right to me, it looks more like a bump than fur. My main problem with her is her voice--kudos to Lacey Chabert for doing an okay job with TLK 2's young Vitani, but who the fuck heard her audition for Aleu and said "she's perfect!"
I know Aleu is supposed to be young and open-minded and naive, so the creators were probably thinking they should have a young-sounding girl play her part, but I think they went overboard; all in all, she probably could have been a slightly less annoying character with a different voice actress....

sorry for ranting; I am so cranky right now it's ridiculous.

I still haven't forgotten about my commissions, I'm hoping to get at least one or two done before I leave for break and work on them when I get back.
