perhaps some of you remember this picture, from 2008? --> [link]

a lot of people really liked that old thing, so I decided to see what kind of upgrade I could make. Apparently, I've improved a lot more than I thought I had. :3

coloring this was extremely fun and extremely hard, especially when it came to Balto and Aleu. I think this is the first time I never shared a color between the two of them (besides some shades/highlights here and there). Given my 50-pack of colored pencils, I was even able to pick different types of red and cream for Jenna and Kodi.
coloring was edited a bit using Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2010, so the shadowing could be a little more visible; especially the underbelly fur. I tried to make the lighter fur colors visible without saturating the hell out of my images using the computer or making the underbelly fur too dark...

the logo was a bitch when i first sketched it, and I'm actually really happy with the way it turned out, because I had to force myself not to get lazy when inking it.

The white wolf is the wolf from the first movie, not Ainu. I understand many of you believe they are the same thing, or whatever other opinion you have. I, personally, do not see the white wolf from the first movie as having any blood tie to Balto. The idea that the white wolf was Balto's mother was a story aspect created by the people who worked on the sequel, so they could have something to tie the second movie to the first. I like to separate the two, and I am a much bigger fan of the original White Wolf than Ainu.
So no long, unecessary debates about the wolf; m'okay? :3
