!Aladar: OMFG.
apparently I can't draw right now, so I decided to upload this craptastic doodle. :3
I actually had a lot of fun with this, because I haven't drawn a dinosaur in for-evah, and I don't think I've ever drawn Aladar/any Iguanodon before--I used a few screenshots and coloring pages for refs, since I find it difficult to convert CGI styles to 2D easily.
I used to have a major crush on Aladar way back when the movie first came out in 2000; I recently re-discovered the movie and I'm totally in love with the film again....so to celebrate I doodled an Iguanodon-ified Fido bothering Aladar, who apparently thought she was long gone.
you can't see any of the super light shading I did for either of their markings....so use your imagination.

Dinosaur-or as I used to call and still call it, Aladar-was one of the key movies in my childhood, I kind of broke down when our VHS tape of it stopped working. It remains my second favorite dinosaur movie after Jurassic Park... and I live dinosaurs, so it's up there with my all-time favorite movies. I love all the characters, except for maybe Krone and the carnotaurs... Bruton is one of my favorites, along with Aladar!

This will always be one of my all-time favorite movies--when it first came out on VHS I made my family watch it every time it was my turn to pick the movie for movie night. Β I must have watched it for at least a month straight.
As a dino-obsessed kid and continuously dinosaur-loving adult, this film will always hold a special place in my heart and I'm just sad that it's not as well-known as I think it should be. Β Even if people don't like the talking animals aspect, there's just so much to admire about this film that I really don't think it should go unnoticed--I still think it's CGI animation is actually really good and holds up well today and the soundtrack is nothing short of incredible.
Of course Aladar is the best, but honestly it's kinda hard for me to pick a favorite besides him--as a kid even though I was kinda scared of the Carnotaurs, I always found them awesome. Β I think the only character I like the least--I don't even want to say dislike, I just find the other characters more interesting--is Neera, but she has her moments so I can't complain.Β

The only reason I mentioned the carnos is because hey, they're the voracious monster predators, so you have to dislike them on principle (and they killed Bruton

I saw Aladar's expression on the thumbnail and I burst out laughing xDD I have recently seen this movie as well and it's reminded me how wonderful it is. It's a shame this movie's been rather buried overtime D:
