So here is the result of 3 months of ridiculously hard work. The costume looks deceptively nice in this photo. The bodice actually sags quite a bit in the chest area and I cry about how ugly my collar looks. Despite being really happy that the costume is done, I've decided to go back and at least fix the bodice and collar. I'm going to open up the neck and shoulder seams and see if I can get rid of some of the excess fabric by taking in those seams and I'm going to re-do the collar entirely. I'll have to readjust the sleeves as well. Still, in a lot of ways this costume turned out pretty well. The wig looks quite nice and Adrien did a fantastic job on the crown and brooch! :3 I'm also quite happy with how I did the sleeves.Consider this version 1 of the costume. I wasn't really able to get many photos of the costume at AN (or at least flattering non-hallway shots). I'm going to be booking a couple of shoots for Otakuthon in the summer so I'll fix it up with the goal of getting some nice shots of the costume around the pretty scenery in Montreal.
This shot was taken by Pan. It's my favourite photo of the costume that I've found so far because you can't see the flaws as easily. XD

When you can wear your ball again. Could you do a photos of getting stuffed head first into a sleeping bag and struggling to escape. Like if Princess peach was captured.

Thanks! It took forever to make, but I'm really happy that I stuck with the costume. I don't know if I would want to take on a project like this again, though! XD

Thank you! That's a lovely compliment. I seriously was a bundle of nerves leading up to the con. I was so worried the costume was going to look ugly. It still needs a bit of work, but I'm nearly to the point where I'm really happy with it.

We are our own worst critics... It really doesn't look as bad as you think it does. I think you looked amazing as Peach, and I hope that after the alterations, you'll think so too!

I'm definitely overly critical of myself. After spending so long on the costume, though, I feel like I have to be especially since this doesn't seem like a costume that should have been that tricky. I appreciate the vote of confidence! It really means a lot. (^_^) So far the alterations are working ok so hopefully it won't be too much trouble and I'll have it ready to go for Otakuthon in no time.

LOL The wind made it really poof out outside. I just took apart one of the shoulder seams last night. I'm determined to get to the point where I'm really proud of this.
