I love everything about the top left one! however i would change the boots a little, they're a tad robotic looking. Great Work!!!

Just a little bit in my JLA covers. I've never done any updated concepts of his costume, though. Maybe I'll try goofing around with that next. Thanks!

Cool...glad to hear it. Those covers were for a series called JLA: Classified - New Maps of Hell. It's a fun little read, and available in trade paperback.
Thanks again.

I seriously enjoy this piece over most Superman art done on this site. Without changing too much, you have given only what can be described (IMHO) as a "Snyder/ Nolan" version of what Superman's suit would realistically look like. I've never believed the "My mother made it for me..." line, but enjoyed the 1) Byrne explanation, 2) Cain interpretation of multiple suits, AND 3) Stracynzki's model of Krytonian material (flesh, metal, cloth) changing in exposure to yellow sun radiation. Here... your artistic vision/ version makes me believe that the Kryptonians wore these suits (without cape/ tunic- please read on...) as a everyday means and identity of self (family crest/ House symbol on chest). And maybe Jor-El packed one of his suits away as a memento (part of a time capsule thing) for his son to reflect on in never forgetting his heritage. Of the four, the top left is my favorite with the color scheme in tone and hues; boot design, suit design, and cape attach. I see Ma Kent throwing in the shorts as the original suit was one piece (and deftly showed his Kryptonian manhood/ cod piece). So to divert attention from THAT, she suggests/ creates red trunks and adds her stylishly designed belt. Storyline wise, a Kryptonian "thing"/ time capsule (Smallvile has the disk, Byrne had an eradicator, & the Donner movies used the green crystal) creates the "Fortress of Solitude" and the suit is displayed as normal Kryptonian wear. It is altered under design by both Clark and Martha, with the help of the "thing" which is intelligent, as the fortress responds to requests in command to Kryptonian presence. Originally pale white with the family crest on the chest, it is PA KENT (alive, which I've always liked) who suggests the color be changed to Clark's favorite color/ colors, & add a cape to divert attention from Clark into this new persona; no one will think of Clark while seeing this new persona in these wild colors and a cape. Pa also suggests Clark change vocal tone to a deeper, but assuring/ confident sound. His body stance should be "at attention"- ready to move in a minute. And the hair... he would sweep his hand into his hair to reveal a tussle look (hence the curl; which BTW, the movie "Superman Returns" and the TV show "Lois and Clark" had wrong; Clark should slick the hair back -like Byrne did as Clark- and then when in flight, the hair gets wind blown to the "S" curl- as the new persona. Even Stracynzki's Superman was cool; to tussle Clark's hair to one side in bed head mode- think JIM HALPERT from "The Office" in the last two seasons; then as Superman, tussled to the other side- the wind takes care of the rest... on the traditional side of parting of the hair), because the colorful persona is the mask, not the real him; therefore no need to ever wear one. Glasses on Clark...? Only to throw off the unnatural color of blue in his eyes, as the lenses change facial perception and depth.

Wow... can you believe I got all of this from your art?
