Description
Ellis taken by surpirse! Oh, Hello, Nick! ;DEllis was on a role, sprinting through the mall as they collected a few more gas cans. They were somewhere between 5 and 8. If anything, the survivors knew they were close.
There was a thin moment of hesitation before the next horde came, Ellis grabbed a can of gas and motioned to his newly found friends. "Hey! Hey, uhh... uhh... Coach! Yeah, yeah you!" The hefty man looked over as Ellis tossed him the can, nodding as he ran off to fill the tank.
Ellis ran downstairs, Coach and Rochelle running up to get the next gas tanks. Even though they all just met, it was evident that they made a pretty damn awesome team. Ellis and Nick were on floor duty, in any case that Rochelle or Coach threw a gas tank down. The silence was being beaten to death by one of Ellis' on goings of Jimmy Gibs Jr.
"Ohhh man, and then when thay a'tually went ta go GET the goat..." the mechanic was interrupted by an exhadurated sigh. He looked at Nick who was, unexpectedly, standing right next to him.
"Do you ever stop talking about unimportant people?" Nick growled, eyeing Ellis.
"Awh, well, shucks man. Jimmy Gibs is prett' damn 'portant." Ellis paused, thinking, "And, and so is Keith! Hell. Who else should be'n my mind?" Ellis grinned.
Nick give a sly smile and leaned in closer, "How about me?" His cheek was ever close to Ellis', barely brushing the coarse skin. Ellis shuddered and pushed him away.
"N-Nick! Man! We just... We just met!" Despite his surprise, Ellis' cheeks were dusted with a deep red, his breath shallow. Nick tugged on the collar of Ellis' shirt, pulling the mechanic closer.
Their lips barely touched as Nick locked eyes with the southerner, his expression unreadable. Seconds passed by which felt like years. The conman's eyes lowered as he leaned closer, their lips pressing ever so lightly against each others.
Then the growl of a hunter and the sound of an upcomming horde tore them apart.
Nick smiled as Ellis stumbled away, his face flushed and his eyes wide. The way Ellis clumsily picked up all his gear made Nick chuckle as he cocked his shotgun. The apocalypse wouldn't be that bad. He just found a new game he could gamble upon. There was nothing to loose, but oh, there was so much to gain.
And it all began the moment Ellis said his name.
