I've been quiet, and this costume is the reason why! I am very tired from Anime Evolution this weekend but let me tell you it was a lot of fun despite being VERY VERY HOT. We did a very quick shoot today despite forgetting my corset at home (I had to safety pin the back of the dress closed to fit into it!) and not wanting to wear a lot of makeup because it was melting off my face, but I'm really happy with some of the shots we got off my girlfriend's cellphone.This costume was made in about a month, and most of the work is underneath the dress! There are three layers of petticoats, and one of them is a crazy corded monstrosity I'll upload photos of. The other challenge was getting the anime physics to actually work in fabric and despite what artists may like you to think moulding fabric over and under a shelf of boob is nooooot easy. The bodice was about five mockups to get the fit right and it's still not perfect.
What else is there to say before I pass out? I love Maou and this dress has been a dream of mine since the first episode. Making it was a lot of fun because my dress experience is limited but friday night I pretty much wanted to jump off our balcony as I was cutting the skirt a second time... There are about 20 metres of fabric in this costume if not more.

Thanks, I had a lot of fun making a giant monster dress and I think the fabrics turned out really well despite being super cheaper!

Thank you! If it hadn't been for the heat it wouldn't have been that bad, but it was around 30* celsius so I probably sweated out a kiddie pool worth of water.
