My entry for

History: She is an illegitimate child of a dojo master from Ecruteak. The act of infidelity outraged the master's wife, who left him without legitimate offspring. Sakuya's mother is a geisha and would have brought her daughter up, however, the father took her away. The reason for that was simple - he needed a successor to inherit the dojo and carry on its tradition. The practical side of that was simple, as Sakuya is very fit and could learn the techniques relatively easily. Leading a dojo and raising disciples requires more than that - she lacks the mental resolve, the idea of what to make of her fighting style. Her Pokemon were actually given to her by her father - Yu and Rei represent two different paths, and as a trainer and a master she has to bring out their full potential - only then will she be able to inherit the dojo and keep the two as her Pokemon. The tournament is supposed to help her achieve just that. In the very strict and traditional environment her grandpa is the only one who tries to bring her some "real life", such as clothes, cellphone (which Sakuya can hardly use) or small vacations, always much to her father's dismay.

Personality: A lot of responsibility rests on Sakuya's shoulders and she tries her best, always tries the hardest she can. Hasn't skipped her morning practice in 7 years (and she's very proud of that record). She tries to live by Bushido (the samurai code), which sometimes proves difficult to a young girl. Can be indecisive and naive, as she was sheltered in a dojo and had little contact with her peers. Sakuya is completely oblivious when it comes to romance but her good looks attract guys, leading to humorous situations.
Unfamiliar with electronic devices because of the very traditional upbringing. She makes up for that with knowledge of martial arts, traditional arts, songs, manners. In general, not the smartest crayon in the box, yet gains friends easily.
Yu
Infernape: Flare Blitz/Earthquake/Close combat/Gunk shot (Blaze)
Yu is a lazy, disrespectful Pokemon, that only cares for pure power, talent, challenges. Easy to piss off. Other than fighting he constantly seeks entertainment, ladies or rest. Nearly impossible to make him practice. Quite old, actually.

Rei
Dewott: Surf/Ice Beam/ Air slash/ Grass Knot (Shell Armor)
Rei is Yu's opposite: diligent, respectful, calm. He seeks to be a swordsmaster and refuses to evolve until he explores his full potential as a Dewott. Despises dirty tricks. He wears a hakama.

Trivia: Sakuya has a beautiful singing voice, tho she rarely uses it. The flower on her bag is a kanzashi (Japanese hairpin), which belongs to Sakuya's mother and is a big treasure for the girl.
