Description
Yellow-bellied marmots (Marmota flaviventris) are one of those inherently goofy animals. They always look silly. They're actually in the squirrel family, and they're usually found above 6,500 feet in colonies of 10-20 animals. When alarmed, they emit a high pitched whistle to alert other marmots. This guy was trying to check out a few hikers he heard coming.

Haha I love when marmots flop all over rocks. They're such ridiculous animals.
