That's the thing. It's hard to explain what I meant. XD I guess I mean it looks very unique. Kinda looks like a traditional media piece to be honest. Before I enlarged the image I thought that it was a traditional media deviation. It kinda looks like you've colored it with either markers/felt pen/colour pencil. I think the red portion on Liara's dress is so cool btw!

Wow, thanks a lot! I wasn't aware it had that effect . I guess it comes from 2 things. The textures I used on Shep's outfit (which is just a texture from..I think a t-shirt, btw) and also, the way I color the outfits.

For Liara, I put down the colors and then blended them with a textured brush, so I used the same technique I do for the faces, but for Shep's entire outfit and a part of Liara's I take the basic colors, duplicate the layer, set it to multiply and that way, I can add the darker parts the same way you'd do with, say, a copic marker . It's really useful, cause it's fast and I like the effect ^^.

Hahaha, thank you again, the red part on her dress was actually pretty easy, I just painted it like the rest of the dress and then put the texture over it, setting the layer option to color dodge (I think..I like to just try things out 'til they work ) Hope that helped a little .

Ahhh I see! That makes a lot of sense. I figured you must have used some kind of texture brush or something. It makes it look interesting - very much like what a marker drawing would look like.

Thanks for sharing how you did what you did. I know many artists who wouldn't disclose their "techniques".

Yeah I agree! I think the hardest to learn has to be coloring techniques. I'm currently struggling with that. But it's been fun looking at other people's stuff!

I think color is so hard, because it has a lot to do with form and light (both of which are things I still have to learn a lot more about...)
If you're struggling, I'd recommend DiscipleNeil's tutorials. He's also here on dA, but his youtube videos are awesome, because he does a really good
job at explaining things. For example, this one really helped me out with understanding form and color, pretty useful if you want to give it a watch [link]

Yeah I totally agree with you. My biggest difficulty is in the lighting for sure - my shadings sometimes look off. >_>

Well..obviously I prefer Liara and Femshep as well, but there's no need to hate on the ones that prefer her paired up with maleshep..

I wouldn't call them homophobic because they prefer something else, the game's about choice, that's what's so good about it . They just feel more comfortable with maleshep/liara, just like we feel more comfortable with femshep/liara.

Disagreeing is fine, but there's no reason to be insulting, towards anyone, just because they don't share your views.

While Mass Effect fans in general are striking me as mostly very intelligent and unbiased people, I also think many men playing the game still prefer Liara/Femshep simply because it's hot, there's not much more reasoning behind it. It explains why Femshep/Liara are a popular couple, because two women getting it on is just very aesthetically pleasing to them. That doesn't mean preferring Maleshep/Liara or any other romance available in the games makes those any less fun or hot, or whatever. Look at all the Talimancers out there, I'm pretty sure they outweigh the Liara/Femshep fans in numbers, that doesn't make Liara/Femshep bad, just because in comparison, it would be the minority.

And while we're on the topic of homophobia, apply your opinion to society. In society, there are more straight than gay people. Obviously, that makes gay people the minority. So, should the straight majority say "screw gay couples, being straight is the way to go" or "screw the minority, they are a parasite that deserve nothing"? You see, it works both ways.

Some people just prefer Maleshep/Liara. Some prefer Tali/Maleshep, Vega/Femshep, Ashley/Maleshep, Steve/Maleshep, Samantha/Femshep, the list goes on, but certainly, you know that. I don't think people romancing Liara when playing Maleshep are doing so, because they're homophobic. They do it, because they, personally like it. They feel comfortable with it. Maybe they enjoy playing as their own gender, when they're male. I know I prefer playing female characters, because I'm a woman and it's easier to identify with. It's all about preference, not about hating something. I think as long as they don't personally attack you for having different beliefs and preferences, there's no need to do the same thing towards them, their choices should get the same amount of respect as everyone elses.

Yeah, I was just talking about that with my friend, recently. It's ridiculous, you'd think especially people who choose having their Shep paired up in a same-sex relationship would be especially accepting and respectful towards other peoples decisions and preferences.
