I decided to turn an incidental sketch into a tribute for my favourite Crash game. I was thinking of holding this off a bit longer, but I was too excited. Pretty typical fare for my poster work- some themes pop up a lot more than others...You can see a time lapse of the drawing process on my Tumblr: chapostsart.tumblr.com/post/57β¦
I may make a more detailed step-by-step to put here too.
Not much else to say XD apart from I LOVE CRASH 2. And...

I used to have that game called Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back and I got it for Christmas along with a Sony PlayStation 1 in 1997.
It is one of my favourite PlayStation games of all time.

Yeah! I've actually sketched up lots ofΒ rough thumbs for a Crash 3 poster design, but I wasn't happy with the composition of any of them and scrapped them. Maybe one day I'll have that golden idea and finally be able toΒ do a Crash 3 poster that encompasses everything I want.

Judging by those faint white spots you're using Copics right?

Yep! I use ciaos. But I also used a little promarker on patches here and there.

Promarkers are good for their vivid colours but aren't as easy and comfortable to work with as Ciaos IMO.

I'm not too much of a fan of those hard nibs either :/
I wish there were more Flexmarkers (the same ink as in Promarkers but with flexible tip, still XL-size though

Yeah, hard nibsΒ aren't very versatile.
I have yet to try those, actually. I was thinking about it shortly after I started using promarkers, but I reckoned ciaos filled allΒ my flex-tip needs.

I tend to sketch it out and all but I do a ton of mistakes before I finished it. Β You make it look so easy.

But don't put yourself down- we're all growing artists after all. JustΒ think, thatΒ there was a time when I couldn't even draw a decent ball XD we all have to work up from those stages.Β I can't really be put on a pedestal because I'm just a normal person. I've been through exactlyΒ the same stages - from downright awful to somewhat decentΒ -Β as every other artist, including you. I'm not special in that regard. Anyone can draw as well as me, as long as they practice over the years.

That's cool XD wish I could say a Crash game was my first game ever but it wasn't! This game was what got me back into Crash REALLY strongly, back in Jan '12 whenΒ I started replaying it. For a rather specific and unexpected reason, though... but that's a story for another time.
