History
KITHOOD
Crowfleck and Dustfeather were everyone’s typical pair of mates.
They had the typical love story – they met and grew together as kits, and then apprentices, and into their warrior lives. They became mates, and no one was surprised when Dustfeather announced she was going to be having kits.
Of course, having single kit litters wasn’t entirely unusual, thought it was certainly uncommon enough for them to baby their single kit, Frostkit.
As a kit, he was incredibly close to his parents. He loved his mother with every fiber of his being, and his father was exactly the kind of warrior he wanted to be when he was fully grown. He learned everything they wanted to teach him, always hungry for more. They instilled the warrior code in him at a young age, and it wasn’t uncommon to hear the kit preaching it to the other kits in the nursery.
A healthy kithood for a healthy kit – a kit who would grow to be an incredibly healthy apprentice.
APPRENTICESHIP
It was in his apprenticeship that he began to follow the code even more closely.
It was ingrained in his bones – he wanted to be a good warrior, he wanted to follow the rules exactly the way they were taught to him. Even with a mentor who naturally wasn’t his father, he still turned to Crowfleck for guidance.
His mentor was a surly she-cat named Rockbriar, a cat he felt like he had to bend over backwards to please – and so he did. He felt like every day he was pushing himself harder – to catch more rabbits, to run faster, to be better and stronger at fighting.
It all paid off when he became a warrior.
WARRIORHOOD
Frostbite.
He couldn’t have asked for a better warrior name.
Hearing Rockbriar, his mentor, and his parents cheer it – it was the happiest day of his life. He could barely sit still even as he sat out in the frigid camp for his vigil, a grin on his face throughout the night.
He continued to keep up the trend of being a fantastic warrior – fighting hard and hunting even harder, bringing in more rabbits than the rest of the clan – or at least in his mind, he did!
He could tell his parents were getting empty nest syndrome, but he had no way of knowing how right he was until his mother announced that he would be having a sibling, soon.
Their second litter wasn’t as fortunate as the first.
Three kittens, two born stillborn – and the last a runt, a little kit they’d named Sunkit in the hopes that he would bring light to the sadness that was losing his siblings.
Remember how becoming a warrior was the happiest day of his life? Change that statement. The happiest day of his life was being crowded into the nursery with his mother, watching Sunkit’s eyes open for the first time and seeing his own amber reflected back at him.
Sunkit became the most important thing in Frostbite’s life. His usually cold exterior that everyone else got to see – that was never present when he was with Sunkit. All he wanted was to make his little brother happy, to protect him and make sure nothing ever happened to him.
Tragedy struck the family again practically a moon after Sunpaw earned his apprentice name. While Frostbite wished he could have mentored him himself, of course he understood that the code took importance over everything else – and he knew he would have been biased towards him, anyways.
There was a skirmish. Not with another clan, but with rogues on the border of WindClan territory – their father sustained injuries that killed him, and while their mother made it back to camp, her wounds became infected. The medicine cat could never quite figure out what had gotten them infected so fast, but nothing Goosetooth did could save his mother.
And so he grieved. He grieved for the parents that they had lost, and most of all he grieved for the loss of Sunpaw’s childhood innocence. They had seen their family torn away from them, and Frostbite vowed to make Sunpaw just as good of a warrior as he was.
Thus began the extra trainings – Frostbite didn’t have an apprentice of his own, so when Sunpaw was done with his own trainings, on those rare days where he wasn’t exhausted, Frostbite would lead him out into the territory and train him even harder.
It became sort of like a game for them. Could Sunpaw beat Frostbite, could he manage to sneak up on his brother in a way that Frostbite wasn’t expecting—
There was only one instance where Sunpaw managed to surprise his older brother. It was no surprise to Frostbite that his brother ended up passing his assessment with flying colors the next day.
Sunshine. To Frostbite, it felt like the perfect name for his little sibling.
He couldn’t have picked a better name.
There was only one dark spot in their relationship with the clan – a cat that was known for being the type to be a little mean, though a cat that was joking nonetheless
But Frostbite could see how his comments effected his brother – how the jokingly mean comments made him a little nervous. His brother was just barely a warrior by the time the journey started, and he didn’t need the types of comments that were making him doubt his abilities. Frostbite had approached Reedstar about it before the journey, but the she-cat shrugged him off, much to his displeasure.
During the journey, he clung to his brother even more than before – if that were even possible. He went through the journey terrified that he would lose his brother the way he lost his parents, becoming a bit overprotective of him in the moons of the journey.
Arriving at the fjords was like breathing a breath of fresh air after a long time underground. He felt like he could finally see what was ahead of him without focusing behind him – or at least, he wanted to, if it weren’t for the cat still harassing his brother.
But StarClan hadn’t followed them to the new territories, wasn’t there to greet their new leader – and Moorstar would be a fine leader, at least in Frostbite’s eyes.
He hoped so, at least.
About
Personality:
+ independant, loyal, dutiful
From a very young age, Frostbite’s parents instilled in him one thing: it’s a good idea to rely on the clan, of course, but you need to be independent – what would you do in an emergency, if you were on your own? You needed to know how to handle things around you. They taught him how to be resourceful, and this independence carried him forward into his warrior training. He knew how to take initiative, even past what his leader’s orders were.
He’s also always been incredibly loyal to his clan – he follows the code to a t, never even questioning the rules. The code was law, and he was always going to follow it. He’s incredibly dutiful when it comes to taking care of tasks assigned to him, always giving his 110% percent even if it means sacrificing personal relationships.
> determined, outspoken, moralistic
Frostbite has always been an incredibly determined cat – something that works both for and against him. While it works in his favor when it comes to his goals that do actually benefit the clan, it can sometimes be to his detriment due to how bullheaded he can be about certain goals. Once he’s set on a path it’s hard to knock him from it, for the better or the worse.
He can also be incredibly outspoken, and this combined with his highly moralistic views mean that despite his cold exterior he’s one of the first to speak up for other cats and against injustices he perceives in the world. If he thinks someone is doing the wrong thing, he’s the first to say something about it – at least, once he’s gathered all the facts necessary.
- stubborn, arrogant, abrasive
Bullheaded, stubborn. Both good words to describe Frostbite. When he’s set in his path or opinions, it’s rare that he’s going to change his mind. Often times this isn’t exactly the best, because sometimes the ways he’s set aren’t exactly the best route possible.
He’s also incredibly arrogant – as a cat who’s followed the rules his whole life, worked hard to be a good warrior, often times he believes himself to be one of the best warriors of the clan. Whether or not that’s true is debatable, but he’s good and he knows it.
He can come across as cold – and sometimes even abrasive to cats he isn’t close to. Really, to those other than his sibling, he tends to show little regard, wanting to simply take them at face value and learn about them before treating them with too much kindness. Often times this leads to him coming across as harsh or abrasive, not that he really tries to change his ways.
Likes: The open air, running, catching rabbits, spending time with his brother.
Dislikes: Closed areas, anything tight, people who treat his brother like shit.
Other Information: He's... kind of a grump.

Sunshine | @ | - "My little brother. The most important cat in my life. I can't emphasize enough how much you mean to me, how much it would kill me if anything ever happened to you. Roleplay
IT’S ALWAYS BEEN EASY for Riku to lose himself in his thoughts, something that happens frequently when Sora takes him on this tour de’worlds as it were – showing him all the places he went while he was learning how to be strong again.
There’s just something about Corona. It’s not the last world on their tour, not even close, but there’s something about the way the people live here, the way they allow such joy into their lives every day that’s almost– well. It’s enticing, in a way, to Riku. The idea of letting himself be relaxed enough to just… enjoy everything going on around him.
Sora, as usual, jolts him out of his thoughts – his brain registers the outstretched hand too slowly for him to do much before his own hand is grasped and he’s being yanked up to his full height by the other male. “What–” And it’s all he really gets to say before he’s being tugged towards the center of the square.
It’s hard not to give into the music. It’s infectious, it feels like it’s down to his core and admittedly, doing something like this with Sora? That’s infectious, too. It’s dazing in a way that nothing else he’s experienced has been, all the bodies moving around him, so he just focuses on his hand in Sora’s, puts a hand on his waist, and dances with him.
And maybe, with this – it can be easy to lose himself in this, too. The feeling of Sora’s hand in his, his body heat near him and their bodies moving in time to the music. He can lose himself here. This time, he thinks, he’d certainly rather lose himself in the good feelings of enjoying time with the one he cares most about.
