Can a non-human hnau like Kana really be defined by the Myers-Briggs? Adneks, at least, don't seem to be too different psychologically- enough that ENTP seems to fit her quite well. But even so, is it right?

Sure, though use the test on enough aliens and you'll likely see different personality distributions. For example, and to use Myers-Briggs terminology, Analysts (*NT* personalities, which we are) represent less than 10% of humanity. Sentinels (*S*J types), conversely, account for at least 50%. Perform this test on, say, the Ur-Quan of Star Control 2 and they'll all be I*T*: they do not like other people. Whereas the K'kree from Traveller will not only all be E***, but pathologically so: any that isn't monophobic is considered "crazy."
And that just scratches the surface of those aliens.
Apart from how they experience the world due to different sensory modalities, how are Adneks psychologically different from humans?

It's tough to say, especially if you're me, who is far better at the physiology than the psychology. Obviously, there are going to be some differences based on their differing physiology (Adneks can't see the color red, are carnivorous, etc.), but there's also the question of culture and history, and how they would effect such things. Part of the reason for Kana, and Adamsverse Beta as a whole, is just that- it's a beta, a testing ground for any future endeavors with the Adnek species. Perhaps it may even give the opportunity to nail some of these things down better.
Some things I have established, so far, include that there really isn't any one type excluded, Adneks are more likely to be E*** than humans. Some Adnek characters for whom I've determined include Kana (ENTP), Eizi (ENFP), and Advocate (INFJ).

In hard(ish) SF, notably the aforementioned Traveller, explanations for Adnek psychology would go straight for the evo-psych: e.g., "obviously they evolved from pack hunters." However, as you mentioned, there's the oft-neglected culture and history (though Traveller does pay attention to this regarding the Aslan). For humans, look at the differences between Anglo, Nordic, and East-Asian cultures. Hell, even with Anglo cultures the difference between the US and UK are noticeable.
Since we're on the subject of culture and history, what can you tell me about Adneks?

More than can probably go into a single comment. If you want anything specific, you could probably message me. Else, I've been meaning to do compound everything I've got in that regard into a single document. 'S harder than I thought it would be.
