Description
Resubmission: when i was submitting this it kept on cycling the description part so dunno what happened but should work this time.This is a sketch that has been sitting in my sketch book for over a month now but sacrificing a bit of time has made this happen.
Its a step backwards from myy usual way of rendering but been wanting to ink in a pencil sketch, leave the pencil and cell render it since last year but i feel that the previous pics were suitable for it.
still sorting out the wall paper adaption that should appear next week if i get some presentations sorted out for next week.
tools, mechanical pencil 0.5 & 2.0, stadler ink pens and a mouse.

Sonic at his gangsta best, though the sizing makes it look like he's younger and shorter. Overall, better than Shadow as always

great stuff. luvin that shading and colouring. the hand looks a tad odd but that is a hard pose to pull off so my respects to you for making a great effort.

I could totally see Sonic in those clothes if anything, they work pretty damn well with him, considering the last time I seen him in clothes really goes back to that odd ODD human sonic from some video game convention 2 or 3 years ago.
Interesting for me to see you revert to a perfect sonic style from your own. I mean, there not too far apart but since I first met you, you've really not only improved significantly but defined yourself artistically with these characters and stuff. Always impressing me man, I'd say keep it up but yer doin' just that. Again, awesome stuff.

there have been other people that have clothed him, but i chose his stuff to what i thought that would suit him. yeah my soninc drawing has improved alot since my last submission and liking the proportions better. cheers!

It's a weird conbination, the coloring is cell shading neat, the paper surface and the lines still retain the sketchy form, but this one it works better than the shadow one, for some reason... odd. ^^b
I like the hand gesture of sonic, and how u got his grin, the personality is standing out nicely, and not to forget to appreciate all the good details on the accesories. ^_^

i am not sure exactly why i felt this one works better....
Maybe it's because his hand is touching the edge of the paper? It's playing a composition that runs on the edge, and no sketch lines are clearly showing outside of his hand. The cell shading is taking weight, not contained by the texture you left behind from the sketches itself... the balance on texture is nicer on this one. Though the control was not intentional.
The shadow one didn't work out for me because I feel the character's weight is taken, or contained by the dirty paper texture. I like the use of that texture, personally I think its refreshing that you let it be ur texture in the background, but the balance didn't turn out as nice in that one.

guess the dark grey used for shadows strips swallow him up more than sonic blue and i do a egree with sonic copositiion being off center as opposed to shadow being in the center. well all those pencil works is me working out out parts, quite funny how they are in the same places like the out streched hand, the spines etc but it shows im not all perfect when doing a drawing, i do mistakes like everyone else.
