Description
Howl's Moving Castle still manages to move me! The setting, the music, the characters...One thing that has fascinated me was that flying castle towards the end. I always wondered what it would be like to live in that flying deathtrap.
4 hr, Photoshop, 'twas a challenge to paint this.

It's a shame Miyazaki doesn't do sequels. Still, I heard great things about the "House of Many Ways". I've been planning to read that...

No, I WISH. *Sigh* I have to content myself with this project. It "sorta" LOOKS like a prequel (or sequel) to Howls...

Fun fact: I listened to Joe Hisaishi's magnificent score for the movie to get into the mood to paint this...

Same here... I drew this picture on a whim. The idea of living in the flying castle just captivated me... WHAT IF THEY FALL OFF???

In that universe? They'd bounce off the ground and end up aboard again

Oh wow, this piece is gorgeous. I love the soft, painterly feeling. Also the contrast between the dark underbelly of the castle and the bright, luminous colors of the background is interesting.
This definitely captures the storybook fantasy feeling of the film :]

Gah! This needs more comments and faves. Although that movie isn't my fave, I do LOVE the art direction, and this is a wonderful interpretation. The soft colours of the rolling hills, the way everything flows into each other as if painted...wonderful!
As for crit, is it missing a shadow? Or is that off-screen? Just wondering, as that stood out to me

oh hey there. thanks. I really appreciate your input. I think I made the mistake of not adding a more defined shadow to show off the scale of the castle, but in the end, its all good practice.
