Description Just a little something I spent the last 5-6 hours putting together.

`Doubtful-Della and I were exploring the Tiger Bay State Forest near our house in Deland, FL, and came across the perfect spot! For the first time in ages, I had a semi-creative thought (yeah, imagine that!) and we stopped to stage it out. :devdoubtful-della helped me by taking the photos, and by critiquing the result before I submitted.

Just a side note... The large image of myself is NOT pasted into that scene! You can check out the original base image that was used by clicking here .

This was a lot of fun to put together. I used it to practise a new layering technique that I've been working on. The goal is to make a 3D layer of the base image. If you look close you can see that the samller images of me are layered into the background. In other words, the foreground overlaps the images of me, but the background doesn't. It sound's more complicated that it was, and I'm sure someone has a technique that looks better and takes less effort, but I was still proud of myself for figuring it out and for actually putting the time in it to complete this project.

Even without the doubtful benefit of caffeine, this is still funny. My favorite 'little guy' is the one running with his arm over his head. :3 (yeah, yeah, those 'his' should be 'your'. ^^)

The way my life is going right now, I'm definitely not the one in control here. It's always the things beyond my control that dictate what happens... Hope that answers it for you.

Wow! truly impressive! How did you get yourself behind all the trees? it looks so perfect.

The large image of myself was photographed that way. Those trees are actually only that high, it was like a miniature forest growing out in the middle of the park. The little figures took some work. What I did was make a duplicate layer of the background, and move it to the top. Then I used a layer mask to black it out and make it invisible. The little figures were sandwiched between those two layers, and when I needed "foreground" to overlap the figures, I used the white brush to "reveal" the foliage that should have been in front of the figure. It was a lot of work, but I'm actually pleased with how it came out.

Yeah I figured that you did it that way but it takes a real steady hand. Hmm I never figured the trees were that small, which is why I was so impressed at how you added the giant figure. (I love your sig)

Yeah, those trees were pretty cool. If you get a chance, look at the link for the original base image. It shows what that miniature forest really looked like.

Nicely done. The lighting on all the figures doesn't give it away, either.

Oh man, I'm glad someone noticed the lighting, lol! The little figures were photographed when they were at a different angle to the sun, so I actually had to go back and "re-light" them! Used my trusty burn and dodge tools to try making the light "fit".
