This is really nice!^^ the blurring of the window and far wall is a nice effect and you've got your lighting and pallet pretty nicely too^^ I like how the natural lighting from the window is more of a soft yellow compared to the harsher blue-er screen lighting ^^ And I didn't notice it before, but your clothing fplds and stuff look pretty accurate ^^ Did you use a reference or take it off the top of your head?
If I were to offer some critisism and suggested improvements, I'd suggest working on giving her face a little more definition to the shape, if you get what I mean, I understand if this is a style choice but I feel it would improve the focal point of the picture and give you more opportunity to display your awesome work with highlights and shadows^^ Scondly, the room feels a little sparse, this could you for time reasons or compositional choice, or just not wanting to draw shelves of book (completely understandable), which you could change with some sneaky copy+paste, or cropping the image closer to the girl?
I wouldn't change the angle or the girl herself at all though! From day one, you've had her down brilliantly and that hasn't changed with colour ^^

To summarise, I find this piece really simple in subject yet amazingly executed, especially your use of colour and highlights ^^ If you have more time, or are willing to return to this piece, I beleive with some love and some tweaking, it could be even more so!^^
Keep up the good work!^^ but don't overwork yourself!^^

To begin with, I'd like to thank you for the very constructive critisism. It is very rare for me to get the kind of advice that I can actually take with me and use to improve (especially in real life, where everyone goes "oh, that's nice!").

I have previously been rather ignorant about the lights in a scene, and I've been prone to "winging it". However, a few youtube tutorials ago I ran across the explanation to why lighting has to be an active choice in a scene. Β This is a rather new concept to me, that I believe will be helpful in future projects. I am glad that your comment reflects that I got this part right.

The cloth folds are partly referenced, since it is one of the things that I have most problems with. I might focus on cloth studies next week, actually - I really want to improve in that area.

You're spot on about the face and room. The lacking face definition is due to inexperience on my part, and I hope practice will make perfect at some point. I had a chuckle when I read the "sparse" comment, since I totally agree with it. I simply got lazy, and in retrospect I should have probably spent some time today (I finished about 2 am in the morning) to add some of the things I had in mind (plush toy on one of the shelves, decoration in the window, another shelf with stuff on it under the window and so on).

Again - thanks a lot! I will definitely try to internalize your points of advice

No problem ^^ I'm just glad to be of use^^
I know what you mean about receiving "that's nice" and stuff^^` It's good for motivation and feeling good about your work, but it doesn't help you grow much^^`
Could you re-find and link those YouTube things? I might give then a watch, since I've seen evidence that they're effective ^^
