Description
A friend {a non-smoker} went to London and brought these back for me {a non-smoker too} specifically because he knows I enjoy photographing colourful things like this. Nice and thoughtful presentHe told me that in the 70's it was very chique to sit at a bar (in London) and puff away at these. Can you imagine! With those 70's fashions.
I'm embarrassed to say there was a price label on one of the packages -

Oh I have never seen them before - I'm certain they were not imported to South Africa.

What's the point of getting old if we don't learn from our mistakes.. It's what makes getting old fun..

I'm a smoker and I think this would make the most FUCKING DELIGHTFUL GIFT EVER!
But the problem is, it's so pretty looking, I'd rather eat it.

Yes, that's exactly the problem; FAR too pretty (and costly) to send up in flames!!

Very colorful. I'm not generally a smoker, but I have been known to puff away at a White Owl Grape Cigar. Tastes like bubble gum.

Very interesting photograph indeed! I recall one time when Michael and I went to Little Italy (Manhattan, NY) for dinner and there was a street festival going on. There were women walking around puffing away on cigars! They thought they looked chique alright, but all I could think about was how they probably smelled! (Disgusting!!)

Oooh, I adore the smell of tobacco, especially cigars and PIPE smoke - mmmmm! I don't smoke myself, but I love sniffing at cigarette packs - Camels smell great.

As odd as it is for me to say (not just a non-smoker, but an asthmatic one at that!) - what beautiful cigarettes!

Yes - they were purchased solely for their aesthetic appeal *cough choke* - much too pretty to smoke anyway.

This might only be me, but the "halo" around the filter of the black one bothers me. Is it a reflection on the background?
So, how much did they cost? I know that brand has always been expensive.

Whoa you must have a very bright monitor. I only see then on a huge magnification and close scrutiny. Hmph... must re-work.
VERY expensive. They were a gift and priced in UKPounds but .... very.

Sorry. Apparently it IS quite bright, even though I have the brightness set to about 20% and the contrast at about 50%. I know it's much brighter than the Dell's I have at work. Pretty impressive for a monitor that's at least 10 years old, really. It would make life much easier if there were some kind of standard we all agree upon for brightness and such, though. I'll have to see if I can find that calibration ulitity, again, just to verify the settings. Last time I checked, it was dead on.

No; your monitor's quite right I have dragged it back into Photoshop to sort it out; thanks for pointing it out!
For calibrating, the Spyder seems best. (now out Spyder 2)

I love how you'd focused in on the label of black one, it really draws your eyes in and centers it with the bright colorful ones as a background!

As a non-smoker myself, I have always loved the smell of tobbaco leaves (not the smoke). And these are some fabulous colours!

OH yes!! me too so very much. I have been known to spend time in tobacconists just smelling the various jars and containers. Fabulous aromas.
Thank you for the fave on this one
