LOOK. AT MY GIRL.SHE IS GLOWING.
I hope everyone has seen Forgotten Friendship!! Everyone is saying it's on par with, if not better than, Rainbow Rocks, and I totally agree! There are some things that are still like "ugh, they're going with this again?" but the jokes were so funny and Sunny was so amazing and there was so much great interaction that I didn't even care!!
With her hair change in the series, she got a slight update to her mane and tail when in pony form. I like it! However, I don't really care for her fur being darkened because I don't think it fits as well as her normal skin color. Going forward with my own art I'll probably just go with what I usually use. But her fur was never darkened, it's the way it is.
The fandom made pony Sunset vectors based on the 1st movie where we only saw her in night time. Hard to pin point the exact colors and thus uses her human colors in pony form. But by default...ponies' colored fur are more saturated in colors compared to EGs.
Mirror Magic has this exact same colors from Forgotten Friendship unless you watch the Polish releases (muted colors) and the home-media ones (watered-down yellow colors)

Idk which one I like now: the teletoon version or the discovery family version. most of my sunset vectors contain the teletoon version colors.

it bothers me that they keep changing her skin and hair color. My sunset vectors all go with the same scheme. With this kind of change, I dunno if more of my future sunset vectors will receive the same treatment.

Man, I really dig the redo of her mane, if only because that little bit of twirly red forelock felt a bit weirdly disconnected all this time. Now, she looks just about glowingly perfect! I only wish we could see more of pony Sunset before G4's end. And also, the older bolder mane/tail colors would look smashing in her current manestyle...!

And I loved the special, though there were a few "ugh" moments... No wait, only two: Twilight speaking for the group (You are the youngest member, you have no right to speak for them, Twi) and the whole new super heroine costumes. Sorry, gals, that will never not look silly to me

No idea, throw a dice. I just felt it was kinda awkward for Twilight to take the role of leader, considering that she's been in the group the shortest, and really just went through the whole magic of friendship thing

Hmm, I hink Sunset's darker skin-tone works real well for her.
And of course, I agree about how good Forgotten Friendship is. It's my Top 3 of the EG Specials, along with Rainbow Rocks and Legend of Everfree. ^^
