Okay, I made a tutorial because I am an avid believer in GIVE A LLAMA, GET A LLAMA. The tutorial was made for the following reasons:
1) Because some people actually do not know how to give a llama and they may find this helpful;
2) Because I want to stress how EASY it is to give a llama so that people will hopefully return the llamas they get;
3) Because I get a LOT of people telling me they can't give me a llama because they don't have any points, when in reality, the first llama is free;
4) Because I want more people to promote the "Give a Llama, Get a Llama" philosophy.
So, it was part a real tutorial for people who do not know, and part sarcasm because it bugs me when people take the time to thank for a llama but don't return it, or don't even try and just assume that it costs them points.
Also, people who will only llama you if you give them points, what is up with that?
GIVE A LLAMA, GET A LLAMA~
And now you know how! <3

Or if you're a lazy butt like me, download "One Click Llama Button" (just look up One Click LLama and it'll come up) and lazily give hundreds of llamas a day heh.

That works, too. xD I just get so many people who thank me for llamas, and when I ask if they'd be willing to give me one back, they say they don't know how - or more often, that they don't have points.

//sigh
I know what you mean!
And it's pretty apparent by looking at people's llama stats.
E.I) I've given about 6,000 llamas, but only gotten roughly 2000 back.
;;w;;

You do need to input your password when giving someone a llama (unless you've checked the "Remember Me" option), so I can't help you there if you're unable to put it in on your iPod.

Oh, okay.
I don't think I've had that happen. If I enter my password and check that box, it remembers it for me... I entered my password years ago and it still has it stored. lol.

You can give one llama to each user for free, for as many users as you like.
I think that, if it's possible to give a user an additional llama, they have to pay you a point through a specific method... I haven't looked into that part.

Ok but what if I want to give more then one Liama to the same user ?

Sugary-Stardust In reply to DoctorVore [2013-01-04 07:46:41 +0000 UTC]
I don't know if you can. I think there's an 'exchange llama for points' option if you dig in their llama settings, but I haven't gone into it.

Sugary-Stardust In reply to Clarksy [2012-12-27 23:44:36 +0000 UTC]
Nope; it's ridiculously easy. I just get a lot of people who, when they thank me for a llama and I ask for a return llama, say to me, "I don't know how?" or "I don't have any points, sorry!"

I understand. Sometimes people thank me for giving llamas too, but they don't give me any llamas back

Thank you for making this tutorial. It's frustrating when you've given out 7000 or so badges and only receive 4000 back. I mostly give llamas to people on llama giving sites so I couldn't understand why so many weren't given back. Now I know! And yes, what is up with people who only give llamas for a point?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Sugary-Stardust In reply to Y-eskii-lass [2012-12-23 03:02:00 +0000 UTC]
Right? I've given out twice as many llama badges as I've received, I think -- and I often get "Thanks for the llama!" but no return llama.
Silly people wanting to make profit off a free service.

That happened to me once. The person said 'thanks for the llama, and I wrote back, 'yeah, I really LOVE those llamas, but, no return. I guess they just didn't know how to do it.

is only the first llama free, or are they all free? sorry im new here and i dont really know all the rules yet

Sugary-Stardust In reply to youngartist46 [2012-07-12 22:49:58 +0000 UTC]
It's fine. ^^ All llamas that you give are free, and you are only allowed to give each individual one llama apiece. I think that there is an exchange program where you can offer someone a point to give you a llama or something, but I'm not sure about that, so don't let it confuse you.

00Maria00 In reply to Sugary-Stardust [2012-12-23 09:17:53 +0000 UTC]
Well, the exchange program works like this - you can offer other people to give you llamas for points by making an offer in that menu you get after clicking on your own llamas.
You can benefit more if you notice in the same menu when someone demands llamas in exchange for points. Those offers appear there, but if you ever want to see one, you may have to refresh the page at least 20 times a day.
And, just for the record, we're talking about this page: [link]

do you have to actually have a llama badge (or any badge) to be able to give it to someone?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Sugary-Stardust In reply to WolfieMaster [2012-05-09 00:14:14 +0000 UTC]
No. All giving a badge requires is a few seconds of your time and to agree to dA's "Terms of Use". There are not a finite number of llama badges... every time you "give" a badge, you're putting a new one into being, not taking one away from yourself. Hope that helps!

I needed it when I first started, too, haha. I remember having to ask one of my friends what the llama badges were all about and how to give one.
