Description
This was the Vader commission pic I was working on for...ever. It was on 1 metre squared canvas and the blending drove me mad.The colours in the pic (well, the red) isn't really the correct colour and you would not believe the amount of black acrylic I got through.
Said I'd upload it and so here it is.
*Edited in order to spell Vader correctly*
I've uploaded a photo showing Vader on my wall. Hopefully, it gives some idea of the size of it: [link]

Cheers mate. Thankfully the guy who wanted it liked it. I don't think I would have been able to handle it if he wanted changes.

It did! It was a horror to do. I honestly thought it would be an easy piece to paint but I forgot that acrylics dislike being blended .
Thank you.

no luke, I am in sullen-skrewts gallery. and then luke would do that no thing, but here it is, that amazing picture. great job, looking at the size of it on your wall, i can see why you were angry about how much time it took, but i suppose you feel relieved that it's done.

Completely relieved, it has to be said. I wept tears of joy with the last brush stroke.

Aww, thanks mate
He was supposed to be a simple painting that took a few days to do. Ended up taking weeks of me spitting nails with the amount of paint, blend-MORE WATER-blend some more that had to be done.
Ah, well. He's gone now and I kind of miss him...kind of

Thank you. Yes, it is acrylic. I'll have to upload a pic showing it hanging on my wall.
Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to photograph it's progression.

Though it was likely enraging, the shading's STUPENDOUS. I love the red colour used.
Again, AMAZING job done - even if you truly hated doing it in the first place.

Cheers! When I first started doing this, I thought it would be one of the easiest paintings I've ever done, due to the simplicity of the actual image.
Boy, how wrong I was!

Heh. Guess that's what you get for being cocky and underestimating it, I guess.
It's a learning curve. Hopefully now you'll be more prepared if you're asked to do a painting like that.
And yes, first off only having to draw some shades looks REALLY easy. But you know better now, I think.
