No disrespect to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and the splendid performance he did as the Comedian, but I think Adam Carolla would have been the best actor to play the Comedian. Nevertheless, he was easily my favorite character in the film and Morgan's acting had me rooted to the spot.

Love The comedian. He's one of the first things I think of when I say Watchmen. Love how he's an asshole through it all, but by the end we symphatize with the bastard.

God, this is freakin' awesome!!!
Despite The Comedian's pretty messed up history and personality, he's my favorite character. He understands the world more than the other characters and the part in the comic where he trash talks Captain Metropolis' plans for the "Crimebusters" pretty much explains the folly of generic costumed heroes' plans to save the world: It isn't that easy.

After much contemplation, I've come to the decision that the Comedian is my favorite of all the Watchmen. They all have problems, each different and sad in their own way, but at least he did what he thought was right. Heh, probably why Rorschach seems to admire him so much despite all the bad things he has to say about everyone else.
Anyhow, this is brilliant. I'm in awe of your tallent, and I think it would be a crime if I didn't watch you. Very glad to have the club to thank for finding you!

great job on my fav! i totale agree even at there worst you can relate to them, not only was the watchmen a great story it gave a deep look at the superhero arctypes and there thoughts and motives from the patriotic goverment agent,the gritty brooding viglante,the god like superman,the inventer, the smartest man in theworld and the herione trying to make it in a heros world.

There is sexy character overload in Watchmen, which is why I probably love it so much 
Eddie is one of those characters who you shouldn't really like, but then the rug is pulled from under your feet and you end up feeling sorry for him. There doesn't seem to be just good and evil, the lines are completely blurred (grey, if you like).

He's such a fantastic character
as you said, you want to hate him
but as the book progresses...you can't...
you really can't
these characters are so human, and you're right. none of them are completely good, none of them completely evil. We're supposed to take Blake as evil..but though out the book, he knows this. He knows what he is so he takes each character and shows us how they are no better/no worse then him.
and then we see him break
we see HIM, the heartless, morally impaired psycho with a flame-thrower
we see him break, and we see him care.
but long before then, we had already stopped hating him.
now,
now we like him.
i love the character progression in this book so much.

Yeah It always scares me when they make a movie based off of anything. I read Watchmen BECAUSE of the trailer, and I loved it, now if they could make the rest of the movie just as exciting as the comic I will be a happy camper!
