Description Okay...so I decided to recolor this piece to bring out more of the form. I added some blue to the shading and gave the image more contrast. However, I decided to submit it as a new piece of art so that people can compare the two and see the changes that were made ^__^

I was having issues viewing this so I reuploaded it.

That's jesus stat right there. I agree that this one is a much bigger change than the other one, especially the use of the strong highlights.

Now that is beautiful beyond reason! I just love how the glow illuminates her body and the surroundings. The water ripples and the fur are nice painted. And I like how the warm and blue colours collide. This is great!

Though I always thought that a real life anthro would have a more "human" face, I have to say that this is THE closest picture I've so far seen of what a real life anthro would look like.
VERY, VERY good job here.
definite fave.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SummerCLatimer In reply to Cellidor [2007-08-20 10:53:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah...I made the face a BIT more flat. I agree with what you're idea of an anthro is. i get into big talks with some anthro artists because I feel a lot of them think a true anthro would just be a human with fur, an animal head, and a tail...But in all honesty it would be something totally different all together. I've thought about doing a picture of an actual study where I take an animal's bone structure and a human's and actually mesh them...would end up with one creepy looking thing I think XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-21 05:43:21 +0000 UTC]

I agree. The usual anthro look does have a more human face, but I think that might just be because it would make it easier to talk (and I did notice how you flattened the face and drew softer eyes with visible eyebrows). There are many ways to mesh an animal with a human, so it's great that you found a combination that's both realistic AND greatly appealing to the eye. I also know how some mixes can come out not quite as good as the artists may have intended, such as a full animal body with a human head (usually not as nice to look at in that way) or even an animal with no fur and human hands and feet (if the regular look were to be put into reverse in that way).
oops, I do believe I'm starting to rant now ^_^
I guess the only way to know how a real anthro would look like would be to meet one in real life! (oh, how I wish that day would come, lol)
Whew! that was quite a mouthful!

SummerCLatimer In reply to Cellidor [2007-08-21 10:04:19 +0000 UTC]

Well...With me I am not sure I would actually like how an anthro would look in real life...I'm undecided on it. A lot of people ask me if it was possible to make myself into an actual anthro would I do it. I would have to say no...Mainly because I believe I am what I am and that's what I should be...Plus...However much it would be interesting there would be a LOT of life style adjustments that would have to be made.

hehe...anyways...It's an interesting subject.

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-21 21:46:45 +0000 UTC]

yep, lots of changes. such as making a tail hole in every pair of pants you have, and spending an INSANE amount of money on shampoo and conditioner.
What would you say if you, instead of just changing anthro, had the ability to switch back and forth between the two?
Or, if maybe you could pick a specific animal to be, which would you prefer?
(I think you already said which in one or more of your drawings, but I'd be better to hear it directly FROM you)^_^

Being a shape shifter would be cool...But I think I would rather be one naturally then through science...you know? If you become something through science it is made and not really part of you rather then an outside source...If it comes about naturally then it is something truly special...You know?

As for what animal I would like to be...A white tiger or even a leopard of some sort would be cool. If I was a shape shifter though I would want ot be more then one sort of animal ^__^

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-22 22:53:41 +0000 UTC]

sort of like the wonder twins but not as corney, I'd guess?
but, speaking in different terms, what about if the transformation was made possible by magic? (just pretend we can use it) or maybe even magiscience?
It would still sort of be an "outside source", but in a different way.
And what are your feelings on a time-run transformation (like, werewolf every full moon, that sort of thing.)?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SummerCLatimer In reply to Cellidor [2007-08-22 23:47:38 +0000 UTC]

Well...Magic is a different thing because the outside force is still not a manufactured thing. It is not made by man as much as it is drawn from them or the mystical forces around them. As far as werewolves...If I got bit by a werewolf then it would still be natural...because if werewolves exist they do not exist due to science...It's hard to explain! XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-23 05:11:46 +0000 UTC]

lol, there are sooo many ways I can make a confusing scenario, so I will!

Let's say...a(n) (accidental?) chemical mutation made a wolf become humanoid, but an outside magical source made it so that the mutation could be transfered via bite/scratch. also, some recent magiscience makes it so that the mutation could be made at any time (Instead of every full moon).
but it could be a mutation with any animal too
(eg. white tiger/leopard).

What are your opinions on that scenario? would you see the werewolfs(weretigers/wereleopards) transformation and abilities as acceptable? would you accept the magiscience procedure to change the transformation date?

p.s. lol, you don't HAVE to answer the questions if you don't want to, this was just fun to think up.

Honestly...I don't know because I doubt anything like that will ever happen...And I don't think anthros will ever be something that is actually possible. That's simple enough I'd say ^__^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-23 06:46:34 +0000 UTC]

aww, ya gotta belive they might, though! without belief, they wouldn't exist at all!
Me, personally, I believe they do. ^_^
but everyone has their beliefs, right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SummerCLatimer In reply to Cellidor [2007-08-23 07:32:02 +0000 UTC]

You think they actually exist? I'd like your proof! Has ANYONE ever seen any? Any sain person anyways?

I honestly don't think it will ever happen...And I'm not sad about that...If it ever does happen I want it to be a natural thing...not made by science. I doubt it will ever happen though and, as I said, I am perfectly fine with that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cellidor In reply to SummerCLatimer [2007-08-24 00:53:02 +0000 UTC]

It's....an odd sort of belief, I guess.
It's not that anyone has seen them, or that I have proof, it's more that I...... really, really HOPE that they do. And whether or not they do doesn't really matter to me, it just makes me happy to think so ^_^

now DRAGONS on the other hand, I'm almost positive that they do/have exsist/exsisted. There's just allot of evidence, is all. plus that documentary that they're making on them, too.
